Where is Trafalgar Square in London?

The nearest station is Charring Cross, where Bakerloo and Northern line tubes, Southeastern trains and busses stop. You'll exit the station a hop, skip and jump from Trafalgar Square. Embankment station is also on the fringes of Trafalgar Square, served by Bakerloo, Circle, Northern and District lines. Nelson's Column stands proudly at the centre of Trafalgar Square, a 5.5 metre granite column on an engraved bronze platform. It was erected to honour Admiral Nelson's victory in the 1895 Battle of Trafalgar. The bronze panels at its base show four of Nelson's most legendary battles.

Things to see and do in Trafalgar Square

Four giant bronze lion statues (called the Landseer Lions after artist and sculptor Edward Landseer) are perhaps the most iconic landmarks in Trafalgar Square. The famous felines took nine years to create and sit at the base of Nelson's Column.
