A very clean and well-located hotel with a really nice breakfast. However, for a 4-star hotel, I found it quite basic. There was no courtesy kit at all (to get some body lotion you need to ask at reception), no fridge in the room, no tissue paper, and although there was a nice coffee area, there wasn’t a single bottle of complimentary water. This means you have to use the bathroom sink to fill the kettle or coffee machine. On the first day, I returned to my room at 3 p.m. and it still hadn’t been cleaned. A very kind lady came a few minutes later, but I needed to work, so I told her it was fine to skip the cleaning. The next morning, however, someone knocked at 9:30 a.m. asking to clean the room, even though check-out was at 12 p.m. Nothing serious, but overall not quite up to the standard of many other 4-star hotels

Stayed three nights with breakfast each morning in the Mercure portion of the hotel. The room was spotlesslessly clean and very well appointed with a VERY comfortable bed. Breakfast was exceptional (though the breakfast room was particularly busy on Saturday morning). We also ate in Barnaby's on one evening and were impressed by the quality of the food and the table service by Noura. Only one slight grumble .. the main Bar closes at 11pm. This is too early for thirsty people returning from a show (although drinks could be, and were, taken in the not-so-comfortable lobby area!
