I stayed at this hotel in December 2020 during the lockdown and had a perfect stay. Everything was immaculately clean, bed comfortable and room service breakfast was fresh, hot and delicious. The staff were also very helpful and printed out some urgent travel documents for me. This visit was less good. The staff seemed disinterested and not well trained. Cleaning standards in the bedroom were poor. Dusty surfaces, fingerprints and palmprints on glass desktop, toothpaste on the bathroom wall, no toilet paper, no drinking glasses or cups. No eggs on the breakfast buffet for the entire 15 minutes I was there.

I’ve still not received my refund!!!

You charged me £25.00 and promises this would be refunded in 3 days!!! I stayed here on 4th September snd I still don’t have my money back. I want this refunded ASAP.

I got charged for my room 4 times and the staff were not helpful at all in getting my refund and I did not get any compensation for the bank fees I occurred. Very unhappy.

We stayed for one night as we had a late arrival into Paddington which is 5 minutes walk away. The room was comfortable and shower good Not masses of room but enough Staff were helpful and friendly and stored our cases for the day whilst we went out for the day

The hotel is nice and the staff are particularly helpful and lovely, however the restaurant that it's attached too isn't great and brings the hotel down sadly. Location in London is excellent, although the square that it's within let's it down slightly.

Great staff, allowed us to check in early as room was available. Room was very small, carpet was very old and had patches. Breakfast was included and was ok. Overall, good location and service, maybe opt for a bigger room which has recently been updated if given choice.

Room was in the basement directly under reception, so footsteps/furniture all night. Could hear everything happening on the street. Food wasn't great.

Hotel was very well situated close to Paddington station. Our weekend stay was good value for money. Room was clean and well appointed. Breakfast was good with a variety of options. Staff were friendly and helpful.

the hotel was absolutely lovely and well presented and the staff was so kind only thing i would say is the shower never heated up and asked for help on the matter but no one came to sort it- but besides that it was a great stay and will definitely return back! :)

On a positive note: Staff at the reception desk was very friendly, and breakfast was good. Great location. However… Baby cot came with no mattress - and towels shouldn’t be used as a substitute. The room was not cleaned daily. Toiletries and cafe facilities were never replenished. The one time we had the room cleaned the towels were taken away and not replaced - we had to ask for a fresh set ourselves.

Hotel was situated in a quiet location. A little disappointed to have been given a room next door to the lift. Quite a bit of noise and disturbance every time somebody used it. Staff were friendly and polite. Felt the room could have been cleaner. The window blind was thick with dust and the wall underneath looked like it could do with a good wash down.

Having been let down at the last minute by booking.com in double booking us for an apartment and also having drove 4 1/2 hours from Devon with 4 children in the car we came across Mercure hotel just by driving past and thought this looks like a very well run hotel. Having spoken with the reception at the hotel they couldn't do enough to help us after letting them know what had happened to us. The treatment was first class 2 rooms they supplied to us which were very clean and modern and everything you need after a long journey. We then spoke with who I beleive was the manager or owner of the hotel to which he then helped us with supplying us breakfast which is at the hotel which the food is outstanding. What started out as a bad 3 day trip because of booking.com double booking us in another hotel, mercure surpassed our expectations and we will definitely be staying there again with our 4 children. Everyday the floors beds etc were cleaned to a high standard the the reception was so helpfull

The hotel is in a good location and the neighbourhood is relatively quiet considering it’s proximity to stations etc. The hotel exterior (mainly woodwork) requires major maintenance. The staff were excellent, very welcoming and professional.

Hotel is in a scrappy area with much litter and people sitting around in the street, very intimidating and not like the pictures! Room was cramped for a supposedly 'superior ' room. We had requested twin beds but this didn't happen. Complimentary free soft drinks were 2 very small bottles of water. Breakfast was in brasserie next door and was very limited, not much choice. Will probably not use Mercury again!

Had room 501, small room but with a most comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom. For one person totally adequate,view over the rooftops from the small window which ,as a word of warning,don’t leave open if it rains as the water runs onto the inner ledge in the room ,think the guttering above was blocked! But only a small negative for what was a nice relaxing stay in a comfortable hotel with lovely staff,and beautiful surroundings.would especially like to thank “NUNO” for his help and a quick note about the breakfast,in the attached” brasserie” quick service smiling staff thank you

Despite these difficult times we were made very welcome at the Mercure. Our room was excellent, with a lovely view over the square. Comfy bed and excellent shower. The breakfast in the Bistro was very good.
