The hotel is close to Lambeth bridge on the South side of the river. There are bus stops close by but we used the underground (closest about 10 mins walk). It is nice to walk along the promenade along the river. The hotel is well organized. Efficient check in and breakfast service (lovely staff). Storage of luggage possible and the (superior) rooms have a separate sofa(bed) and are extremely well soundproofed. Nice bed, coffee and tea making facilities, small fridge. Small but adequate bathroom with walk in shower and a separate toilet. I have stayed in many more expensive hotels in London that were not as good as this one.

We arrived on Sunday 23 March. Constantino checked us in and was extremely helpful. Every thing we needed the hotel staff provided promptly. We truly enjoyed our stay.

I stayed at the Novotel London Waterloo for 4 nights. Check in on Sunday was very sterile and not warm or welcoming at all. Normally they always offer me a free upgrade to a nicer room (I booked an Executive Room but knew they had some suites), but here the receptionist didn't even mention it. Lifts in the hotel have had their best time and should be replaced by newer, more modern ones. I asked for a quiet room and when I got to the room, it was much smaller than the 32 m2 room presented on the hotel website (this was later explained to me and was apparently due to the fact that I asked for a quiet room). Carpet on the hotel room floor was disgusting and full of stains and after my first day, I noticed that the fridge in the room wasn't working. There were also supposed to be free bottles of mineral water in the room, but they were replaced by a disgusting glass bottle you had to refill yourself every day at water dispensers which were placed on every floor of the hotel. I wonder if they ever clean out those bottles, mine still had water in it (from the previous guest ?). Also, contrary to what was mentionned on the website, there was no minibar in the room. Some good points : the room had a very comfy bed, the bathroom had shower gel/shampoo/body lotion from Rituals and there was a Nespresso coffee machine in the room. Also for a 5 storey hotel, it was surprisingly quiet. Service from the hotel staff varied day to day, some were very friendly, but most of them were distant and not welcoming at all.

Having had a very good experience staying here two years ago I was looking forward to this trip. Our experience was every bit as good as the previous stay. The rooms were excellent in every way., always kept clean and tidy every day. We dined here a couple of evenings and found the food excellent, as were the staff. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
