Overnight stay in London due to rail strike

Piglet810 TripAdvisor review

The staff at this hotel are fantastic, nothing is too much for them. They are all engaging and ready to assist with any enquiry. The hotel itself is situated extremely near to Paddington Station so fantastic for travelling onwards. The room are well kept. The only slight downside is the building work nearby which stops at about 4pm and restarts at 8am - so not too good if you have a room over looking them and are looking for a lie in. Luckily we were not so it did not cause us a problem at all.

Tough first day

Our first night was tough. We arrived late in the afternoon and only after dinner did we turn on the airconditioning and it was noisy. Nothing can be done about the noise by then and we were loaned a fan so we need not turn the aircon on. The light through the window was bright because the window was covered only with a white blind so do ask for a room with curtains. The next day the airconditioning was still noisy, the team managed to move us even though the hotel was full. The hotel is just next to the Paddington station so it is convenient. There is serious construction going on next to the hotel so things are a bit beyond the team.

Harald S TripAdvisor review

I have stayed in this hotel several times and have to say not over impressed by this hotel but it is London and rooms are tiny and old. It is clean and staff super friendly to support you. All credit to the tall Bulgarian at the front desk which is uniq when it comes to customer focus and willingness to help. I apologise I cannot remember his name! But please send me the name of the joke of a person smoking in their room in the middle of the night sending all quests to the street! I hate it but cannot blame the hotel. All in all great location with good service.

Very Good Location

Very good location and very hospitable reception staff. Unfortunately, my single room (308) looked more like a broom cupboard or a luggage storage room. Extremely small. Actually, this room was an insult for a All Accor - Platinum Status Customer. No "Room-Upgrade" was offered by the hotel (no respect for status customers).

Credit card abuse, unwillingness to help, no real invoice

TripAdvisor rating 1.0/5

CCAA22 Business - TripAdvisor review

Stayed at the hotel several times. However, after the last but stay, the hotel charged an additional amount to my credit card account and saw no reason to answer three emails asking for the reason. When checking in last time, I asked for clarification. However, front desk staff told me emails are not answered as the reservation office is “very busy”, and the front desk was unable to clarify the situation but promised to get an answer the next day. Which did not happen. Until now the falsely charged amount has net been credited back. I am a diamond member. Status was not honored upon arrival or during the stay. On departure only an information invoice was handed out. Although requested twice by mail, a formal invoice has not sent to me by now. If you like your credit card details abused and think good service is unnecessary, this is probably a good place to stay. Anyone else should watch for another hotel.
