Brilliant staff - shockingly poor corporate overbooking policies.

I’ve used this property before and recommended it, but never again. The room I was offered, having booked well in advance, was not the upgrade promised, plus there was a scaffolding catwalk right outside my window. Raising this with reception, I was first gaslit ‘that is the room grade booked’ - it blatantly wasn’t. And ‘we can’t offer you anything else as the hotel is overbooked’ - like that was MY problem, not theirs. All this said, the receptionist was the epitome of professionalism and calm, offering me a room in a sister hotel nearby and even walking me across the road to inspect it. The corporate overbooking policies are not her fault, and I felt sorry for her being at the sharp end. I accepted the alternative, so I’m staying with the brand, if not the property, partly based on that customer service and partly on the super-warm welcome I recived across the road from a team member called Shah.

Pros mentioned above, Cons, there was lot of noise due to trains, some sound of water also observed probably when used upstairs and room was next to emergency exit room which cause lot of disturbances late night due to it’s opening and closing.
