It was a short stay but the room was immaculate. I had an evening meal and breakfast and they were both cooked perfectly. The staff were very welcoming. I'd recommend it to others who need to stay near Paddington and central London.

Whilst the hotel is a good standard it is a shame that they choose not to offer a bottle of still water with the room. Most 3 star and above hotels now offer free water and it’s difficult to explain why Mercure don’t feel this important

Mostly this hotel met our needs, but the porridge at breakfast on all 4 days was never properly cooked (still some raw rolled oat flakes in dish), and most days was liquid on top and thicker at bottom (not stirred to mix water and oats during cooking), and on the first day no spoon was supplied to eat it with. Once I stirred the porridge up, and left it for 5 mins so uncooked flakes cooked in the heat of the dish it was OK. Also, asked for my breakfast to be delivered to my room between 8:00 and 8:30 (the way that COVID-19 lock-down forced the breakfast to be provided), but on all 4 days of stay it was brought to the door up between 6 and 10 minutes earlier, and on one occasion while I was still in the shower! Otherwise, all the staff were very helpful, and the stay was pleasant.

I booked to stay at the Hotel in Praed Street but on arrival I found it was closed and I proceeded to the next closest Mercure Hotel which luckily was only a matter of minutes away. This was most inconvenient

This is a review for Hyde Park as Paddington was closed. On arrival was charged AGAIN for my stay as you have changed your booking systems and now take payment before arrival. I am a gold member and after showing my card I was given the smallest room in the hotel. Didn't find out until the 3rd night of my stay that food was being delivered via room service. The star trek type do not disturb panel near the door in my room was only diminished in lux output by the green led on the AC unit shining through the grill to enable me the poorest nights sleep I have ever had. Walls are paper thin and noise from other rooms is above tolerance for myself. In short if this was the only hotel left for a nights stop in London I would sleep in my car. The surrounding area whilst I'm sure was once a extremely desirable place to live is now marred by what I assume is an asylum refuge with the murder scene mattress' propped up for all to see on the way up to the hotel and the homeless shelter next door. Whilst I had no issues with this I am a 19 stone gruff Northern bloke, my wife has no problems with looking after herself but I wouldn't want her to be out there by herself. I booked Paddington but it is closed and has been for some time looking at the hotel as I passed it to Hyde Park. Payment was taken and a different hotel given but this is beyond acceptable. I have had no issues throughout this pandemic and have stopped in many of your hotels but this has massively marred my experience and I will now think twice before booking with All Accor app.

One of the best locations in London for getting around and doing business. The check in was very smooth, Bogdan was very helpful in organizing a late check out with no drama. A good set up with the Guffunkel Restaurant next door.

Executive room good size and comfortable bed. Staff were very helpful including General Manager whom I had communicated with before hand. Small problems / and requests dealt with in a timely fashion. If using Paddington Station then ideal location with good connections to rest of London.

Average stay in a great location, but could be so much better

Unlike most other hotels I use from the Accor Group, I was not offered pre-arrival online check-in and when I did arrive they didn't seem to have any of my Accor loyalty club details so I had to re-submit those and go through the full check-in procedure. The room I was given was a standard double and small but more than adequate for a one-night business stay, however the bathroom was particularly tiny and could even have been unusable for anyone much larger than I am! Then at checkout, expecting to use Fast Checkout as I'd checked was available to me the previous evening, I was called back and had to resubmit my credit card to pay there and then... not great service. Breakfast in Garfunkels next door is convenient, but poorly organised and slow, with the lack of restocking and then space around the buffet table making it very difficult to get your meal started. And to be frank, when the hot food, which had taken an age to be offered and get ordered, finally arrived it was as best adequate and really not of great quality, so a bit disappointing overall.

I stayed 6 days during Christmas with 30% discount and breakfast under global sales. It doesn't matter not to be any next level upgrade for my Platinum level, but there is not any online checkin email. Staff for housekeeping are really work hard to clean my room under 4 luggage in the 10 sqm room. The rate includes breakfast. I can choose Hotel Indigo London Paddington as alternative for some days. Indigo has more choice especially vegan. Anyway, you must taste both if there is the chance.

I booked the EXECUTIVE ROOM WITH KING-SIZE BED of the hotel Mercure Paddington through the Accor website. The room was described as a 'Privilege Room (approx. 26sqm) with a 200cm wide bed.' When we arrived early, we were told that the hotel was fully booked, but that they would walk us to their sister property for a comparable. We were walked to Hotel Indigo Paddington, not an Accor hotel. As I expect a certain standard from Accor hotels and am not familiar with the Hotel Indigo brand, I was disappointed. We were initially offered the 'Standard Compact 1 Double' which was an incredibly tiny room and definitely not a 200cm wide bed. We explained what we had booked and then they offered us another room, the Superior 1 King. This room was smaller than the booked 26 sqm but slightly larger than the first, and again not a 200cm wide bed. We spoke with the Mercure staff to explain that this was not the same level of room as we had booked, smaller size and smaller bed. They informed us that none of the hotels in their group (apparently the owners of a few hotels, not Accor) have 200cm wide beds. As this is a requirement for us and was clearly listed in the room description, we were very disappointed, asked for a refund, and left.  Thankfully, we were able to book a room at a nearby hotel.  We are still waiting for our card to be refunded.  While the manager and staff we talked to were all friendly, more could have been done. When we asked the manager what she was planning to do to remedy the situation she said that we could either keep the room they'd offered us or cancel the reservation. I'm very confused how a hotel advertising multiple rooms with '200cm wide beds' doesn't have a single bed that is 200cm wide. The manager told us that the beds in their entire hotel group are 90cm wide and so their larger beds are only 180cm wide. This is odd as the single beds are described as 100cm wide, so a double bed would be 200cm wide if they pushed them together. The manager was uninformed about the hotel bed size, deceiving us to convince us that none of their beds were as wide as advertised, or the website is describing the rooms incorrectly - any of these three scenarios are unacceptable.
