We chose The Savoy to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary, and it was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making us feel genuinely special throughout our stay. The hotel was immaculate, with everything beautifully presented. Afternoon tea was excellent — elegant, delicious, and perfectly served — and dinner at the Savoy Grill was outstanding, a real highlight of our celebration. The Christmas decorations were simply wonderful and added a magical touch to the whole experience. We felt thoroughly spoilt from start to finish and couldn’t have chosen a better place to mark such a special milestone. A truly memorable stay, and one we will cherish.

My husband booked us a night at the Savoy for my birthday and it is pure luxury. We had an amazing time and felt very spoilt. We had a complimentary room upgrade and a present of a lovely scented candle, half a bottle of champagne and chocolate with a lovely birthday note. The architecture and the decor is of course special and iconic. The staff are faultless with impeccable service. What is great is that they are all really happy to be working at The Savoy. And they treat every guest as someone special. The food at the grill was excellent as always and of course the iconic American bar with amazing cocktails. We had breakfast in our room and it was a feast! I had the continental breakfast with the freshest and tastiest bowl of berries. We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to go back- it is true perfection

Our family holiday stay at The Savoy was nothing short of magical, and truly one of the most extraordinary hotel experiences we have ever had. From the moment we arrived, the Christmas atmosphere was breathtaking. Every corner of the hotel was exquisitely dressed for the season—warm, elegant, and festive without ever feeling overdone. The experience began with the doorman’s gracious welcome and continued seamlessly through check-in, dining, and every interaction that followed. The service was simply unparalleled. Coming in from the winter cold, we were welcomed with complimentary hot drinks and biscuits—such a thoughtful and comforting touch that immediately made the hotel feel like home. The cozy seating areas throughout the hotel invited us to linger, relax, and truly enjoy being together as a family. Our room attendants went far beyond anything we have ever experienced in all our years of travel. Not only was the room impeccably cleaned, but every detail was cared for with astonishing attentiveness—charging cords neatly coiled, clothes rehung perfectly, and every single item thoughtfully straightened. Each visit brought a delightful surprise: small gifts like bath salts and lip balms left behind as a quiet gesture of care. During each turndown service, slippers were placed beside the bed on a small floor mat, creating a feeling of warmth, luxury, and genuine hospitality. Even the minibar was entirely complimentary and fully restocked each day—something we have never encountered before and a reflection of The Savoy’s commitment to exceeding expectations at every level. Returned to the Savoy for Christmas and New's Year Eve, my 16th visit. The service was, as always, magnificent from the doormen to the butlers to the concierge....but the latest "refurbishment" has all but destroyed the beautiful rooms and suites. Every single room and suite is now just grey grey grey....the floors are now all very dark wood, walls are a solid grey colour, carpets are grey, drapes are grey, furniture is grey....I felt I should be in black mourning clothes instead of Christmas finery. All the beautifully UNIQUE and cheerful rooms and suites have been replaced with truly depressing minimalist decor...and every room the same boring design, even the paintings are all the same in each room. This new design is apparently Fairmont-wide as the Vancouver Fairmont we visited in April, and all the photos on Fairmont websites show rooms and suites with the same grey gruesome pattern.
