Staff were attentive and pleasant but feel the information about bedroom and chauffeur service were misinforming. I have emails regarding the chauffeur service I hired to take us to the Savoy, stating firstly the wrong charge ph, which was later corrected, but also a statement stating my hire would be charged at 2.5 hrs… I was charged 3 hours. ( I was only in the car for 1hour 10 minutes ) The concierge were reluctant to check the charge with the chauffeur company. ( I understand the journey to pick up point was included but again 2.5 hours was definitely More of a realistic time scale!) The bedroom I booked was described as overlooking, City, River Thames or courtyard. All sound acceptable but we looked over what I am guessing was the courtyard, which was basically the swimming pool roof and an artificial grass covered area. Luckily we had not booked to see a show that evening, as when we went to have a shower to get ready for the evening, there was no hot water. We rang reception and after half an hour rang again as nobody had come to check the shower as promised. It took over an hour for this to be sorted. We stayed with you to celebrate my husband’s birthday and these factors definitely affected the experience in a negative way.

From the moment I rang to book our stay I was reassured I had made the right choice. This was a special trip for my elderly mum who uses a wheelchair and has oxygen but was desperate to see Paddington at the attached Savoy theatre. On arrival Chloe on front desk was warm and welcoming and arranged a welcome drink for us in the reading room. She involved my elderly mum in the experience who was in a wheelchair. My mum felt welcomed and comfortable immediately. Shortly after arriving in our room a lovely delivery of some Paddington themed muffins were delivered to my mums room; a wonderful, personal and thoughtful gift after I mentioned the purpose of our trip at booking. We had a problem with a strong chemical smell in our room and Anna on reception kindly arranged us an alternative room and the transfer of luggage was facilitated for us with ease. The final day my mum was feeling unwell but the hotel arranged a late checkout for her without a second thought and also arranged a meeting space for my partner to take a couple of important meetings. I’m really sorry I cannot remember their names (one was a female and the other a male member of reception team). Everyone greeted us throughout the hotel, often by name. The experience was wonderful and welcoming and exceeded our expectations. Having travelled extensively, frequently staying in luxury hotels/suites and sailing on premium cruises, the Savoy really does have a class and elegance that you can only get in somewhere with such history but also with some of the best trained staff in the world. Thank you Savoy for making a very special trip even more special. We will definitely be back.

Lovely rooms, well-appointed... though the hallways to get there were very long, with both stairs and an elevator necessary to get there. Good exercise!
