From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the service was more than outstanding, the attentive nature of the team in every department was amazing, not gushing or overdone but enough to make us feel special, especially my mum who was celebrating a birthday, everyone from reception, luggage porter, waiter wishing her happy birthday and assisting with her limited mobility, Everything from the bedrooms, restaurants, American Bar, open spaces is pure luxury, however the hotel has a relaxed friendly feel about it with no pretension A wonderful experience

Service remains strong across front of house, F&B (Gallery, American Bar, In-Room Dining), and housekeeping. But, the recent renovation of the Edwardian / river-facing side of the hotel is underwhelming. The 2010 renovation amplified the Savoy’s quintessential Britishness with layers on layers of traditional-meets-quirky design elements. Nothing was understated; more was more; the aesthetic was singularly The Savoy. The 2025 renovation is attractive, to be sure, but it looks like any other Ritz-Carlton, Park Hyatt, or Fairmont - generic, non-offensive luxury marked by solid gray walls, dark wood (veneer) finishes, white marble surfaces, brushed brass accents, and uninspiring modern prints in gilded frames. There’s nothing wrong with it, it’s just not what I want from The Savoy. As a result, I struggle to understand how it considers its identity in the market now. If I want modern, corporate luxury, I’ll go to The Peninsula or the Four Seasons, where rooms are large and the experience is the same from Beverly Hills to Bangkok; if I want unique British grand dame glamour, I’ll go to the Ritz London, Claridge’s, the Goring, or the Lanesborough. Sadly, I wouldn’t choose The Savoy for either.
