Our stay was a last minute decision and we had heard so many wonderful things so we just had to stay. Our room was outstanding with beautiful views of the Thames. All the staff was very welcoming and courteous. Our favorite was Jose at the concierge’s desk. He was just amazing and helped us with any and all of our needs (maps, tickets, suggestions on touring, dinners, COVID tests and so much more). We will definitely stay again in the future.

Asked for room close to lobby. Was with amex program. Told I had upgrade. No way this was an upgrade unless from basement. I was as far from the lobby as I could be. The room was cramped with one tiny window. I have a bad back, and had to move a desk to open and close the curtains. Worst was plumbing. The shower was very difficult to shut off. The knob kept falling off in my hands . The tub cold water handle needed a wrench to turn it off. I told hotel about this first day. They came but did nothing. The room ended up flooding the last day and the water came all the way out to my carpet. I slipped and landed on my back. I was shown two other rooms after my first day introduction to this ‘upgraded’ room and both were horrible and distant from the lobby. I have stayed at this hotel as long ago as 35 years, at least five times. Never again. Friendly but useless workers. A repeat guest, I know there are far better rooms. Next time, not the savoy, never ever again. I think a lot of this mistreatment was because I’m a woman traveling by myself.

We won a prize with San Pellegrino to attend the BAFTAs and stay at the Savoy. The Savoy stay was fantastic. We had time for a swim and sauna and enjoyed a lovely meal at The Rivers restaurant. Our room was great and breakfast was the best ever! Overall, an amazing experience! The level of service was impeccable.

I stayed for three nights with a friend to celebrate her 50th. I booked through the Ten Group concierge. We arrived at 12 noon, checked in and the room was not ready. We had lunch in the savoy grill and then went to the theatre. All our bags were left with the doorman and I left my handbag and coat in the restaurant. We arrived back at 4pm and asked for our room key. The receptionist would not hand it over until I had produced ID. I explained that we had checked in at noon and that I gave my details then and was not asked for ID. She said that was not correct and that she would be speaking with her team I explained that I did not have my ID with me as my bag was in the cloak room in the restaurant and it contained my purse with my ID. I showed the text message I had received regarding the room being ready and her response was that I could have found the phone and that I could be anyone. This is an impossibility as my phone is face recognition and passcode protected. I was utterly appalled. Again I explained that I did not have my ID as my bag and purse were in the cloakroom. Eventually my friend was able to produce her ID and only then were we given a key. I have stayed in some of the worlds top hotels in the world and I have stayed in the majority of the top hotels in London and never have I been asked for ID or treated in such a disgraceful manner. I was highly embarrassed as I had arranged this special treat for my friend. The receptionist obviously realized her mistake as she had two glasses of champagne sent to the room as a way of apology. However I will never stay at the Savoy again. I will also tell everyone I know to think very carefully before booking. With such high competition in the capital you really do need to consider the customer experience from check in to check out. Shame on you!

Rooms need some modernization...USB ports for charging and streaming Could have TV system that allows in room streaming...Netflix, amazon, Apple. Peloton... Staff and service was exemplary and work out facilities excellent

Hotel Amazing - Grill needs attention

After watching the Savoy series we were really keen to stay. Our welcome to the Hotel was amazing, room was beautiful. Excellent service and attention to detail throughout the Hotel itself. Beautiful flower displays. Amazing attentive service in the American bar. The only downside was the Savoy Grill experience - we were not welcomed well or advised who our waiter would be. We were not offered a pre dinner drink, no wine was recommended and food not explained - this was not the standard of service you’d expect from this standard of restaurant. One of the waitresses tried to take our wine glasses before we’d even had any wine, and took the bottle out the wine bucket just to see how much we had left - all very strange, she was also doing it to other tables. We did speak to the Restaurant Manager on check out, who apologised and gave us some money back - but you don’t expect this experience at the Savoy - especially when the hotel itself is so amazing. Gordon Ramsey needs to take more interest in this flagship restaurant and not spend so much time on his TV programmes! The reception/welcome team were great, especially Ivan.
