Rooms were fine and very clean. Breakfast on Saturday morning was chaotic. A struggle to get a place, no queueing, nobody at the entrance of the breakfast room to somewhat organize the chaos..., reception personnel during the weekend: no laughs, no hellos when you passed them...

Reception staff sorted out our extra day's booking without any fuss. They were kind and helpful at all times even on our last day when our debit cards wouldn't work to pay the parking charge (£160 for 4 days!!!). The location is amazing - a few minutes walk from the Borough Market. Everything is charmingly weird - we thought it was a theatre when we checked in. Buffet breakfast was good, though breakfast room was very busy throughout the weekend. There is a small bar at the Ibis, but guests can also eat and drink at the Novotel next door. If you're driving to the hotel make sure you use directions to the Thrale Street car park at the back -you can't get into it on the Southwark Bridge Road. Don't forget the Congestion charge - the hotel is in the zone. The only downside of our stay was the cost of car parking - £40 a day if you're staying at the hotel. However finding parking in the middle of London is very difficult and expensive and to find a hotel in a location like this with plenty of parking space is amazing.
