Stayed 2 nights in order to visit tourist attractions while London is so quiet. Hotel is very well located for the Tower of London, st Katherine’s Dock, where there are lots of places to eat, Boro market and the Thames where we used the boat to travel between London Bridge and Westminster. The room was extremely quiet and well appointed and the staff extremely friendly. Felt very safe with all the COVID precautions that had been put in place.

Good location, next to the tube station. Outdated furnitures, torn and dirty. Bed linen has holes. Washroom not cleaned thoroughly. One of the female receptionists was not friendly and did not say anything when I first entered the hotel looking lost. The restaurant inside the hotel is fantastic, good food and nice staff, and perhaps the only good thing about this hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights, we have stayed at this hotel a few times previously therefore feel I can compare honestly. The Pros: great location, the waiting staff in the keeper restaurant are brilliant - there’s a lovely woman (Spanish speaking) who was attentive and genuinely kind - especially to children, it made me feel like I was abroad. The room was ok. It was quiet and no loud neighbours or good sound proofing! The cons: no housekeeping - unless you asked, which I know is also for covid reasons - but I feel like cleaning is probably helpful even in a pandemic, especially as there was no sanatorium products near any lift of touching surfaces - other than on the reception desk and main reception lift. Even when requested house keeping didn’t replenish things such as coffee cups (paper) we reused the same ones for 4 days. I will be honest I did not complain about the following things, as we were not staying in the room other than for sleeping really - but the chair in the room had a massive stain on it, the shower dropped all night and the plug hole cover was broken, there were some stains on the walls. The rooms do seem very dated now. They also provided a single duvet for two children to share and I had to request a change of duvet - which was provided quite quickly. I had paid for an early check in and this was queried and said the would try to get us a room - which they did, but this system seems a little pointless then. Although I am loyal to Novotel - I may look around in the future for a different hotel.

Great hotel, great location. Had problems getting into the room due to a faulty door reader which meant several trips back to reception but well dealt with by the staff there.

We stayed here previously and really like the hotel and the location. The room was very clean and quiet at night. We ate lunch on arrival in the restaurant and breakfast each morning. The service and food in the restaurant were both good and very well done within the current restrictions. Staff cleaning of the tables was excellent and waiting staff here and in the bar were really friendly and efficient.

Great Location - Beautiful Hotel - avoid rooms on the 7th Floor

The hotel was lovely and was ideally situated for the Tower of London. We used the tube station at Tower Hill ( 2 minutes away ) to explore London, including St Pauls, Buckingham Palace, London Zoo and the Science Museum. The staff at the hotel were super friendly and the breakfast was fantastic. When we checked in we were delighted to have been allocated a room on the 7th floor with a good view of the Tower of London. However, we had the worst nights stay I have ever had in a hotel in the UK in over 25 years ! There was a constant noise from some sort of ducting / ventilation system in the roof ( our room was on the top floor ) which kept us awake the vast majority of the night. We contacted reception and were then moved to a room on the 6th floor which although had no view at least enabled us to gain some much needed rest on the second night of our stay. To be fair, the staff were fantastic but I do feel that guests should be made aware of the issue with the rooms on the 7th floor ( or certainly the one allocated to us ) prior to, or at the time, of booking as it was obvious that the staff and hotel are aware of this issue.

Caring and helpful when we had an illness

My mum became ill on the 2nd/3rd night and ended up having an ambulance to the hospital where she stayed for 5 days. When she became ill the hotel let me stay in her room and allowed her friend who was originally sharing with her, move to another room for the evening free of charge. The staff were helpful and caring throughout. Prior to the illness the rooms were excellent and very clean.

I was not quite sure what to expect for a mid-global pandemic stay. I found that the hotel was spotlessly clean, and the WhatsApp request system worked really well - the staff were attentive and went the extra mile to ensure that guests had a good stay. Very impressed and would stay again.

Poor service and cleanliness of room a disgrace, Carpet stained and dust around carpet edges. No answer from Room Service, eventually went out for a meal despite being tired. Cleaners left bag of rubbish outside room which was left until evening when we had to ask Reception for it to be removed. On the whole we would not stay at this hotel again. Paid £292 for two nights and now wished we had booked Double Tree which was cheaper!! Disappointing. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this Novotel Hotel.
