During our check-in, that took almost half an hour, the concierge managed to mix our credit cards and client sheets. Furthermore, we were told we had to pay a 100pound guarantee but the full price was charged. In the next morning, the concierge asked me to pay again, telling me the previous transaction was just an authorization (despite it appearing in my homebanking as a full paid transaction). She didn't manage to cancel the authorization, I had to pay with another card and up until now (this was on friday morning), the "authorization" has not yet been cancelled, reducing my credit card available balance and making me be charged twice.
Dear Ms N., Thank you for your feedback, We apologise for any inconvenience during the check-in process but appreciate that you have brought this to our attention as this gives us the opportunity to review our procedures with the team. However, we feel the following information will help clarify the situation. As in the majority of hotels worldwide, our policy is to request a credit card security deposit that is not a payment and only guarantees that there are funds available to pay for any charges incurred, this amount is usually 'blocked' on an account but not actually debited. The pre-authorisation is usually removed between 3 - 10 working days afterwards depending on your bank. We advise our guests to contact their bank in case of any excessive delay and am sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please don't hesitate to inform us if you require any extra items such as a dental kit and we will certainly provide these for you. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back for an improved experience next time and please accept a complimentary room upgrade to the next category. A super stay, with my sister and her husband for their 'special' birthday. Food, cocktails , staff and accommodation were excellent, couldn't had asked for more!
