I wanted to share that we had the most amazing afternoon tea in The Rose Lounge this weekend to celebrate my mums 70th Birthday. The whole team were so attentive and could not have been more welcoming. We had a mix of dietary needs within the group and nothing was too much trouble. The chef was incredible at making sure allergies were catered for, but without losing the magic of the theme. Beautifully decorated hotel for the festive season. Cherished memories. Thank you all.

Unwelcoming Arrogant reception team

The hotel might be great but the team at the entrance was pretty rude. I was waiting to meet with my business partner and the reception team was very annoyingly asking me to move away and giving me the odd arrogant looks as if I was doing something wrong. In the end I felt Un welcomed and had to leave as could not stay at the lobby area. It really ruined it for me, don’t think would go back or recommend this venue. The bar service team was very nice instead.

as a "frequent guest" - at least 2 times a year since many years now - at the St. James I can recommend the hotel, the staff is always very friendly, be it at the reception, the restaurants and the bar. However I have to say that getting into a stuffy smelling room on the second floor overlooking the interior "yard" is not a very pleasant experience after our arrival. Also the hotel sends out mails to "upgrade your stay" with various payable options, I asked for a larger room but did not even get any reply. We will go back, because the location is perfect and the staff is so nice and helpful.
