The hotel appears nice and the staff is pleasant but ultimately the stay was just okay. The bed in my room was on wheels and every time I got in or out it was sliding around. I repeatedly had to push it back up against the headboard because it would roll out and create a gap. There was a very small window, but it was located at the top of the wall and only went down about 6-8" so you couldn't see anything out of it. All that was visible was an awning or something from the front of the building. The thermostat wouldn't go below 18º and my room never actually reached that temp. No lotion or conditioner in the bathroom. No taxi or transfer support to/from the airport. Just a bit misleading that this is listed as a 4-star hotel on Google.

the Mercure is so well situated to visit such a range of sites such as the Tower of London, tower Bridge, Borough Market, the aquarium, Leicester Square, London Eye, etc. the beds are very comfortable and there is a good range of food on offer for breakfast.

Great stay as always. Only real blip was the room not being done on Saturday. We appreciate staff absences can occur, but it took a long time, and a number of prompts, before things were sorted. That said, your reception staff were excellent; extremely friendly, helpful and efficient.

I expected a lot more from such a reputable company, but even in the king size room there was no space to store luggage, the carpets were stained, and visible dust on commonly used shelves. Very disappointed and will make sure not to return.

We enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Bankside hotel. All the staff we interacted with were extremely helpful and pleasant. The room we had was a good size and very clean and comfortable. The bar area was also very nice. The only negative was that the breakfast room was somewhat chaotic although it was very busy.

I stay frequently and always enjoy my stay because of location, cleanliness, general comfort and your usual welcoming and extremely helpful staff. However on this occasion the reception was not welcoming. She was insistent on photo id. I do not carry photo id when in London. I had my payment card out to pay, but she wanted photo id. She went off for another member of staff who accrpted my name on my bank card. This type of welcome spoils the experience. They have all my details and know i am a gold member. Expecting photo ID was unnecessary. Maybe i have been spoilt by the usual wonderful welcome by reception staff who recognise me and greet me by name as i come through the door. On check out the receptionist was extremely efficient and friendly and clearly knew me. I don't expect special treatment but don't expect a hostile 'welcome'.
