I left this review on Google : What a fabulous hotel and an absolutely wonderful stay from start to finish. There were so many thoughtful little surprises — a lovely box of cookies on arrival, a room upgrade, and even the option of an extended checkout. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone genuinely seemed to go above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay. Even the lovely team at the café were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, the beds are really comfortable, and the rooms are clean, well appointed and have everything you need. It’s those little touches, combined with genuinely fantastic service, that make a hotel memorable. Would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Poor experience for this stay for the following reasons: * very strong unpleasant smell in the room (414) which was not going away even with windows open full day * erratic cleaning (table on which I had some dinners was not cleaned from one day to the other and the table and chairs were left in the middle of the room) * upon my arrival, the reception has no clue if I'm a new customer or if I have been there already 6 times... and keep asking if this is my first time at this hotel * water bottle in the room to be filled not cleaned...

I had a really great stay at the Mercure Hotel! Everything was clean, comfortable, and well taken care of. The staff were lovely and the whole atmosphere was very pleasant. I was especially happy with the bed and the pillows — honestly, some of the most comfortable pillows I’ve ever slept on! And the breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of options. I left feeling really well rested and very satisfied with my stay. I would definitely come back!

Well greeted at reception and I was recognised from a previous stay. My accor platinum level was noticed and I was upgraded. Small gift in the room of biscuits was a lovely touch. Breakfast buffet was fresh and well stocked. Coffee was good.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is surrounded by cafes and things to see in the heart of Bankside. The staff on reception were friendly although one seemed new and/or unsure and we had to prompt for information. The room was quite large and the bed was very comfortable. Apparently all the rooms here have a walk-in shower, which is vital for me and I have no idea why hotels can't say this on their websites, instead of me always having to ask in advance. Unfortunately the shower was a rainfall shower and had so little flow you hardly got wet. I would have preferred if the hand shower head had had a higher bracket so I could stand under that. Whoever thinks rainfall showers are desirable needs to think again. In common with other Accor hotels the aircon did not work, presumably they had decided it wasn't warm enough outside, so it was just a fan. Some things were looking a little worn, like the carpets, and the wooden furniture had been knocked and the curtains stained. It could do with a refurb. All in all it was ok and we would probably stay again if we visit this area as the (slightly) cheaper hotels are dire, and the rest are way over-priced.
