What a lovely hotel in London. Close to transport and easy to get to from Heathrow. 15 minute walk St Paul’s Cathedral, Sky Garden, Tate Modern and London Bridge. The staff were friendly and very helpful during our stay, helping us with directions and bookings. We stayed in an executive room and had a mini bar with complimentary water which was great on some very hot days on London. The pool was an added bonus.

My wife and I returned to this hotel for the first time in many years and unfortunately there were several small issues which detracted from what should have been an enjoyable experience. To begin with check-in was slow and at 3pm the room was not ready. We went to the bar to wait and have our complimentary drinks. As we left the bar the barman informed me that my wife’s drink was not allowed as a complementary drink and that I would have to pay. I informed him that another barman had told me it was include and the issue was resolved. In our room we discovered that there was only one bathroom and no slippers. I went to phone reception to discover it was not working. It had for some reason been switched off at the power socket. As we settled into our room, we found that the WIFI did not work on the balcony (Room 1202). This was very disappointed as we could not read on the balcony using our iPads. Finally, I phone reception to ask if there was an ice machine in the hotel only to be told that if I wanted ice I would have to go to the bar, with no offer to deliver. The above issues detracted from the hotel as the room was excellent and immaculately prepared. I trust this information is useful as I do not believe that this is the normal experience for your guest.

It was fine overall. The cleanliness could have been better and the staff at breakfast should stop grabbing the plate in fron of you as soon as they see you stopped chewing (at no point was there a crowd in the restaurant).
