The room had a few long curly hairs in the shower on arrival, which wasn't a great first thing to see, it made me question the rest of the room. I didn't realise that Ibis was a budget brand as the prices weren't that cheap but the rooms felt cheap. Small room, questionable soundprooting, no carpet on floors, bathroom was rounded but with a flat door - poorly thought out. It was nice to have an ironing board and hairdryer. The hairdryer had a lot of dust in the back vent, had likely never been cleaned!

Stayed two nights in this hotel as part of a little break with my teenage daughter. Hotel was very comfortable, extremely clean and well located for all the sight seeing we wanted to do and for the show we had booked to see. The only thing we weren't crazy about was the small capsule bathroom.

Great location and easy to book and check in. Our room was ready early which was a bonus as we were off to the theatre that afternoon so could change and leave luggage in the room. Clean and practical with AC too.

Quiet and functional room, but very strange design and layout. Kettle lead is too short for the socket given the location. Electrical sockets seemed loose and plugs did not always fit. Pod bathroom door quite loud and large step up.

London is expensive. Ibis Blackfriars is not cheap but I found it more affordable than many hotels. Its near a Tube station and 19 minutes walk from Waterloo Station which suited me. Check in is 3pm and I had to wait for my room as did many others on my day of arrival. The reception area was full of people. Unfortunately the cleaning staff had an enormous industrial grade vacuum cleaner, as loud as an airplane, operating in reception for quite a while around check-in time. Very bad time to vaccum when reception is full of people trying to check in. Room was fairly adequate functionally but I hated the decor. I know grey is fashionable but it scheme was utterly depressing with an abstract design on the ceiling that lookd for all the world like big grey damp patches. More surface space was needed to hold my things, especially in the bathroom, and more hangers. Two people would have really struggled for storage/ surface space to put their things. No drawers!! Just a few small shelves.and a clothes hanger rail. No wardrobe. No fridge.There was tea/coffee and kettle. Bed was comfortable. Shower was fine. Drinking water was available downstairs from a filter tap. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Plenty of everything. Range of cereals, pieces of fruit, cheeses etc, croissants, toast, small pastries, and hot food. Scrambled egg was plentiful and tasty..maybe cook a tiny bit more..but good. Staff were refilling the buffet constantly. One of the days I had a drink at the restaurant area around 5 or 6 pm but the damp vaccume cleaner was going again so couldn't enjoy a relaxing sit down! The evening menu choices were very limited and food quality was poor in my opinion. I had a fairly tasteless pizza. Also an unappetising burger. There were near burnt greasy onion rings with it. No marks for food beyond breakfast. Staff were competent and pleasant enough but it's basically a very busy anonymous place where you are encouraged to use the online check in and drop off your key etc. Sometimes queues at reception. It served my purpose mostly.
