Service from the team is attentive. The hotel commands a high price. The rooms do not reflect the price. Furniture is basic. Sanitaryware is aged and the fittings have long since lost their shine. Electric outlets are consumed by in room objects, leaving only one socket for personal items and its not next to the bed. It was -1C overnight, and yet the room was overly hot despite having the temp set to the lowest possible. Communal areas are kept at an uncomfortably warm and stuffy temperature - esp at breakfast. It would be nice to have a fresh feeling at breakfast. Quality of food and drink is good and priced as you would expect.

The front desk staff violated Accor rules and were disrespectful to Platinum members. First of all, when checking in, she didn't actively identify my platinum membership and give preferential welcome service. The second was the failure to proactively arrange for a better room, and even lying when members asked for room change assistance.

Temperature control in bedrooms does not work, it is not AC. Couldn’t open window to a point where it could ventilate the room. Asked for a fan, they had none.

To clarify, our rooms do not have traditional air conditioning systems; we currently use an air‑cooling system, which can feel different from full AC. We also understand that the windows could not be opened far enough to ventilate as you’d hoped, and we apologise that we were unable to provide a fan at the time. Please be assured that we have already begun a refurbishment programme that includes upgrades to our cooling systems to enhance guest comfort throughout the year. All very good. Only reason it's an 8 and not higher is that the room temperature is very difficult to control. The first night the temperature was way too hot and the thermostat didn't seem to make any difference. Other than that an excellent stay, which was good value for money.
