We are sorry to learn that your arrival experience did not meet your expectations. While we always do our best to priorities our ALL members, room allocation also depends on the availability of the specific room category reserved. In your case, as your reservation was for a Superior Room, we needed to ensure that a room matching the booked category and our quality standards was fully prepared before check-in. We understand that it may have appeared that other guests were receiving their room keys before you. However, these guests may have been assigned to different room categories that became available earlier. Our intention is always to provide each guest with the room type reserved and in the best possible condition. We are nevertheless sorry that this situation created frustration, especially considering the unexpected travel disruption you experienced prior to your arrival. This was certainly not the first impression we wished to provide. Disappointing Stay - On arriving in our room we were disappointed to find one chair on the balcony and one in the room. No tea/coffee cups, teaspoons and no tea making facilities. No Business desk. Check your own website information as these are not consistent with the information on your site. There was a coffee machine and there were 6 decaf pods - we don't drink decaf. We went to reception to tell them there was only one chair on the balcony and to ask for another chair. We were told this was not possible as there were no other chairs available. We said that we could see the balcony adjacent to ours had at least 3 chairs, and we were told once again that we could not have another chair. That meant that if we wanted to sit on the balcony together, we had to take the only chair in the room out to the balcony, and then bring it back in. It also made it difficult if we wanted to invite our friend we are travelling with to our room to enjoy the balcony. We also asked for some regular coffee pods for our room, and we were told that we could go to the restaurant and ask for these. Great service, not what we expected from an Accor property (even an Ibis)! We went up to the restaurant and after waiting for about 15 minutes a staff member appeared, and we asked her for some coffee pods and some plates and a knife. Not satisfied with the chair situation we asked this staff member if we could borrow a chair for a few hours for our room and she said she would have to check with reception. After about 10 minutes she returned and offered us a chair that we could take up to our room. Of course, we had to do this ourselves, and it was not that easy given the narrow corridors and small lifts in the hotel. All of this took well over an hour and we had to do all of the leg work ourselves. On day 2 of our stay we were booked in for a city tour and planned to do some laundry that night (your website states that you have a laundry). We were told that there was no laundry, only a laundry service. I sent an email pointing out that the hotel website information details include a laundromat and requested information on the closest commercial laundromat. This was not provided and I ended up having to go to the desk and request these details. I had to walk 1.2 km each way to use this laundromat. Because of the time it took to get the information on the closest laundromat, it closed just as my washing finished and I was unable to dry my cloths there. I had to then Carry our wet clothes back to the hotel. We had to dry our clothes in our (very small) room and we finally received some assistance from hotel staff with this. Sadly, too little, too late. I wasn't going to bother with providing you with feedback because of the time it takes me when I am on a holiday, but then I received an email with a copy of the invoice for our stay. The email and the invoice were made out to Amanda Y.. Amanda Y. is my wife, and is not the member who booked and paid for the stay - that is me! Please fix this and arrange for a corrected invoice to be issued and sent to me. I would also like to raise a concern about your billing arrangements. On arrival we were advised that the Hotel had already taken part payment (161.50 E) the previous day. I can see from my credit card records that this was charged on Sunday 24 May; however, on the receipt is shown as Monday 25 May. I also note that the terms of the booking were for the balance (306.80 E) to be paid at the hotel. It was both confusing and inconsistent with the terms of the booking for the hotel to take and advance payment without authorisation in this manner.
