Receptionists at the check-in counter need more training on how to greet and deal with customers. e.g. no smile, not enthusiastic enough with customer dealings, very laid back and unwelcoming. Also, I was unable to contact the reception from our room as there was an issue with the phone line. So, I had to walk down to talk to them and made a request to provide some tea bags as there was none provided. Person {a girl} on duty on 7/1/20 evening promised to send me some tea bags to my room but they never arrived. So, I went to reception again on 8/1/20 morning to find a tea bag. Which I thought was unacceptable. Also, a man on duty on 8/1/20 morning was rude and his attitude is abrupt. I organised a hotel pick-up to go to the airport on 8/1/20. Since the pick up time provided by the company was too late, I asked this man if he could call the service provider to change the pick up time. His answer was, "no, absolutely not ( very harshly). This is the time you will be picked up and there is no change to this arrangement", So, I explained to him, since it is an international flight, we needed to be at the airport at least 2 hours earlier and insisted to make a call to the service provider to pick us up earlier. He hesitantly called them and abruptly 'told' me to 'go' and pick up the phone at a corner of the room to talk to the service provider. I was shaken. His attitude was totally unacceptable and his reaction to my polite and reasonable request was way below what a customer would have expected from a receptionist working for a well recognised hotel brand. As a member of the Accor Live Limitless, and a unit owner of the Accor chain in Australia, I found it difficult to ignore this kind of attitude from a staff member who is employed to serve their customers. I regret not talking to him to express my concerns about his behaviour then and there.

We stayed 3 nights, two adults and two kids (5 and 3) in the executive room. The room is comfortable, quiet and spacious. The room was cleaned every day, replacing towels and shits. Although the location is not central, it is close to two metro stations: Sao Sebastian and Placa do Spanha, both achievable by foot. Room service can be better, it does not include too many options. The breakfast was very good. Special thanks to Joao at the reception (young guy during morning shifts, we hope we spelled his name correctly). He gave us great info during our stay (e.g., shuttles, discounts, recommendations, etc.). For a family with relative small kids, there are not many options in the game room, but there is a great option to take the free shuttle from the hotel to the aquarium or to Pavellhon Du Conocimiento (thanks Joao!!).

The staff was very friendly and helpful. When I left a bag at the hotel a few days before checking in the staff was very kind. There were two negatives, one was the noise from planes, the other was that my wife became ill, after eating a salad in the restaurant. Beyond the negatives we enjoyed our stay, the breakfast was excellent with good choices of both hot and cold food.

The front desk staff was most helpful for a first time visitor to Lisbon, as there is always things like directions, dining recommendations and local knowledge needed last minute. A spacious room was well appointed for my needs on the short stay. It was a most convenient location, just a couple minute walk from the metro station that could take me closer to the city center and the airport in just a few stops. While we wish the January weather was better, it was a wonderful city to visit, and can hardly wait to come back in the near future.

There were no AC in the room and rooms were hot. No tea kettle was provided in the room and despite requesting to provide kettle in the room no action was taken. Though Breakfast was included i was not given an option to have tea before breakfast and person at restaurant was showing favour by allowing to let me go and take cup of tea.

Unfortunately my wife and I did not enjoy our experience in Novotel Lisboa as we weren't able to sleep properly for three nights in a row due to the excessive heat in the bedroom and lack of proper ventilation/No Air conditioning. It was like trying to sleep in a sauna. We raised this query twice to the reception but they just told us about of not being able to open the window beyond two inches due to the law!! We won't be using this hotel again and we've already communicated this problem to at least twenty of our friends. We stayed previously in the Novotel in Barcelona and it was a superior hotel but obviously there is no consistency in the brand with regards to the Lisbon hotel.

On 24 Dec the cleaners didn't/forgot to put towels in the room or clean it. Pillows-not good/bad quality. Problems with the sink-we told them but the didn't fix it. Some of the towels very old. Cleaness of room-not satisfying. Breakfast very good, crew very nice and gentle.

Very good experience. Excellent breakfast. All was very good managed. Except... sorry the bicicleta restaurant that was terrible. A frozen hamburger for 15 euros menu? It could be a good option for guests if the menu is improved and adequate to the meals.
