As a long-standing Accor member who has stayed across the group’s portfolio, from Raffles through to ibis Styles, and with family members who work for the Accor brand, I am particularly disappointed by my experience at Novotel Lisboa. During my stay I experienced multiple service failures, including 43 unanswered calls to Reception. I was subsequently told that the Reception telephone had been left on silent, meaning the calls were not even ringing through to the team. I ultimately had to physically attend Reception to get assistance. I also experienced poor room-service delivery, including cold food, incorrect drinks and missing items. Housekeeping then attempted to enter my room at around 10am despite the stated 12pm checkout. Unfortunately, the handling of my complaint was equally disappointing. Despite repeatedly contacting the hotel and escalating the matter to Accor Customer Care, it took around two weeks and multiple follow-ups to receive a substantive response. I was ultimately offered 2,000 ALL points as a goodwill gesture. The issue with Reception was also frustratingly characterised as the hotel being unable to answer calls “as quickly as I expected”. That was not my complaint. I was told the telephone had been left on silent, which I found particularly concerning given that Reception should be contactable by guests in urgent situations. Having experienced Accor hotels ranging from Raffles to ibis Styles, I can say that I have never experienced this level of service or complaint handling within the group. It is especially disappointing given my loyalty to Accor and my family’s connection to the brand. I have accepted the goodwill gesture, but I have no confidence in returning to Novotel Lisboa and would not choose to stay there again.

Air conditioning wasn’t working properly and when a fan was requested etc this was not possible. Found staff generally unfriendly (apart from Emmie who checked us in who was lovely). Breakfast was great.

The hotel is well-located, generally comfortable, and worth recommending. However, there are certain shortcomings that should be addressed. Overall, the stay was positive. Check-in went smoothly, and the room was spacious and reasonably comfortable. The extra bed should ideally be foldable so it could serve as a more comfortable seat when not in use. A major issue was the poorly functioning air conditioning, which made the stay rather trying; the only alternatives were enduring stifling heat and stuffy air or putting up with the noise from the AC, which made sleeping almost impossible. It is a pity that the windows cannot be opened, as that would have solved at least part of the problem. Another issue was the housekeeping process on the floor, which lasted practically from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During this time, the corridor was cluttered with equipment, dirty linens, carts, and the like left lying around haphazardly—which severely detracted from the hotel's appearance and fell short of the standards expected of a 4-star hotel. Finally, regarding the staff—particularly at reception, though the breakfast restaurant staff fared little better—the employees were not friendly toward guests, behaving in an overly formal and rather discourteous manner. Perhaps Portuguese speakers receive a bit better treatment.

The Hotel location is not the best but with a taxi it's very cheap to go everywhere so it's not a big problem. Even though planes are directly flying over you don't hear much cause the noise isolation is well. The rooms are modern and recently renovated. I got as Diamond an upgrade to executive floor and 5pm late check out what I appreciate. The staff is friendly! The only thing I have to criticize is the bed. The mattress is uncomfortable and the pillows are horrible. Probably not even down pillows. Very cheap quality.

I had a wonderful stay at Novotel Lisbon and truly appreciated the warm hospitality from the moment I arrived. I was welcomed with a lovely personalized note in my room, along with chocolates, cherries, and fresh fruits. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made me feel genuinely valued as a guest. The room was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view, and the breakfast was excellent with a great selection and quality. A special appreciation goes to the entire staff. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, professional, helpful, and always willing to accommodate my requests. Their attitude and hospitality made my stay even more comfortable. Having stayed in many hotels around the world, I can honestly say that the comfort and service here made me feel almost like I was staying in a good hotel back in Dubai. Thank you to the entire Novotel Lisbon team for such a memorable experience. I will definitely choose Novotel again whenever I return to Lisbon. Highly recommended!

The staff in the hotel is super, very friendly and helpfull. Location of hotel is good, delicious fresh breakfast and comfortable room, the pool is also very nice to relax.
