It is a good location but the hotel room stinks. When entering it we almost throw up. We had to keep the window open all night (which can only be opened very small for safety reasons). Whenever we close the window, the room stinks. It seems that the plumbing system was seriously wrong for the room to stink like that. We did not bother switch the room as we only stay for a few hours as we arrived near midnight and had an early flight to catch, so I cannot comment on if it is just that one room or the whole floor or building.

Great staff, but the noise from the construction was very bothersome...and couldn't get any rest.

I want to share my disappointment with our recent stay. First, the staff member named Carlos was noticeably rude during our interaction at the bar on the morning of November 19, which immediately set a negative tone. His behaviour made us feel unwelcomed, uncomfortable and singled out, and at moments we felt that his attitude may have been influenced by bias related to our LGBTQ+ identity and racial background. Regardless of intent, no guest should ever feel this way. We have never experienced anything like that. We also dealt with constant noise from the floor above us throughout the night, which made it impossible to get proper rest. The beds were uncomfortable as well, adding to an already poor night’s sleep. We appreciate that Mauro offered us free breakfast, but unfortunately the overall experience had already been tainted due to the service issues and the sense of discrimination we experienced. As loyal visitors to Ibis properties across Europe, we hold the brand to a higher standard of hospitality, safety, and inclusivity. Given the circumstances, we believe that additional compensation—such as a credit or consideration for a future stay—would be appropriate and would help restore our confidence in choosing Ibis again. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so other guests, especially those from marginalized communities visiting your hotel, do not face similar issues.
