rooms are somewhat run-down and not practical. no desk, that's bad for business travel. carpet dirty. window can't be opened, no fresh air. night-time food selection not good (should have a club sandwich or a burger)

My experience at Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade was disappointing, particularly regarding the reception service, which is something I consider fundamental in a hotel of this category. Upon arrival, I had to wait approximately 30 minutes to be attended, despite there being staff available. During that time, the receptionist was walking around and clearly saw me waiting on several occasions, yet made no effort to assist or even acknowledge me. It was only after what I understood to be the hotel director came out and instructed her to attend to me that I was finally helped. Unfortunately, the experience did not improve the following day. The morning receptionist’s attitude was also inappropriate and unnecessarily condescending. In a hotel of this standard, one expects attentive, courteous, and professional service — especially at reception, which shapes both the first and last impression of a stay. It is a pity, as the facilities meet expectations, but the service received significantly detracted from the overall experience. I believe the hotel should place greater emphasis on staff training and supervision at the front desk to prevent situations like this from happening again.
