Location was great, staff was mostly nice but the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. It was lumpy and old and made sleep all but impossible. It was as if there was a giant hill in the middle of it. Also, your breakfast host was extremely stressful, and I’m not exactly sure why, his attitude was unnecessary.

Over a week, I stayed at the Sofitel for a work and personal weekend. The Sofitel was well located on the Avenida de Liberdade, a short walk to the Bairro Alto and the wonderful mix of cobbled streets, narrow laneways and beautiful art and architecture. The hotel staff were magnificent, looking after me on my birthday with a bottle of bubbles and a super chocolate cake. The Concierge service with recommendations for dinner and eclectic bars was exceptional. The room was delightful with space, a sleepy bed and a great bathroom. The lobby bar was friendly, and the breakfast service was yummy. Overall, superb!
