The location of the hotel is great. I also have to mention the bed. It was one of the best Sofitel beds I ever slept in and the curtains made the room completely dark. I don't find that often in Hotels cause mostly the light comes through somewhere. Furthermore the noise isolation is very good, even though we had a room facing the main street. I slept therefore very well. I also appreciated the late check out at 4pm which gave me in the end a better Impression of status customer treatment cause in the beginning I wasn't happy. I'm a bit disappointed that even Diamond members only get a 1cat upgrade- basically the same as Gold member than. The room was very tiny and dark. I had the feeling it wasn't even an upgrade cause the pictures looked exactly like on the Website for the superior room. I got after my complaint a corner room and ask why I didn't get that directly. It would've been much nicer if a Diamond member directly gets the best room they have available and not after discussion. All the rooms still need some renovation though as specially the bathroom looks very outdated. Also the breakfast was a bit disappointing. Our orders got forgotten 2 days in a row and the buffet is very small and from the a la cart menu you are not allowed to order except for the egg dishes. I also miss that the hotel has no wellness area or pool.

We were warmly welcomed on arrival and a room was made available for early check in. We enjoyed our All Accor benefits of welcome drinks and dinner discount. The food in Matiz was utterly superb! Good location, lovely hotel Breakfast was good till our last day. I contacted concierge the day before to ask if we will get breakfast on day of departure as we will be leaving around 6.45am for the airport . He stated that breakfast only opens at 7am. We were not offered a breakfast box which I was only made aware just before departure.On insistence I was given a cup of tea and coffee for my wife.I inquired if a refund will be given. This was rejected and the conceige said we will receive some sort of voucher for any future stay. This experience spoilt our lovely stay at this hotel.

The location is very good. Check in was good. 1 of 2 rooms was available. I didn't get a call when the second room was ready, I had to check at the front desk myself. Neither room was cleaned on the first day although we got fresh towels when we asked for them. The breakfast was quite average for the price. There wasn't a huge selection. Having said all that, the staff are very nice and helpful and the beds are comfortable. I really liked the location. It was convenient to a lot of sights.

Very nice hotel in a great location with courteous staff. However, this is not a 5* hotel. The rooms are not luxurious enough, the hallways are narrow and dark. A renovation could get you there. Still, the prices were relatively reasonable so I cannot complain too much.

Though the breakfast staff and at times the lobby staff were pleasant and accommodating, the quality of the room was subpar, and management did not offer or provide further inquiry. The furniture was torn, dusty, and broken. The woodwork was marred and in need of repair. We arrived with a touring group, and our accommodations were not the same as our fellow travelers. Our room was located in the back area of the first floor, in the "maid's quarters" between the linen supply room and the mechanical room overlooking the mezzanine roof.

Some poor service in the restaurant was disappointing. Room was ok but very tired and mattress needs replacing. Also some great service from bar and restaurant staff so mixed.

I was happy to find all the amenities I needed in the room or available to me. The restaurant had great breakfast selections. Our bed was lopsided, indented and very uncomfortable. We think the mattress needs replacing. .
