Hi, unfortunately experience of the hotel is shaped by a bout of gastrointestinal discomfort that I experienced on our last day (20th March), and which has left me very unwell and unable to work. I ate at your breakfast buffet at around 9.30am as I had on other days, on this day having a good portion of the cooked chicken that is left out. I did not eat any other food, but I was very unwell at the hotel while waiting for a taxi to the airport, where I continued to be unwell, and have been since. I have seen my doctor this week, and have been unable to work. Please review your processes regarding how long food such as the chicken is cooked and or left out. Other than this, we were overall disappointed with the hotel. We booked because we had a very good stay at the Sofitel in Barcelona. However, the two hotels feel completely different in terms of standard. When we arrived a light in our room was not working, and the phone did not work. We moved rooms, and it was identified that the phone also did not work in our new room, and this was going to be fixed. However, when we realised on 19th March that the coffee pods had not been refilled I had to go down to reception to request more because the phone was still not working. The restaurant at breakfast was very very different to our experience of the Barcelona Skipper Sofitel. I ordered eggs and ham on the first day, and the ham seemed to be incredibly poor quality. On the second day, I ordered a eggs Benedict, and again the meat seemed very very poor quality. After this I stopped ordering those dishes, and stuck to omelette. The concierge staff were very polite and helpful, and an alternative hairdryer was found for my partner after initially being told his was not possible. Receiving a birthday cake on my birthday was a very nice touch and it was very nice :) I used either the weights room or the fitness room every day and found them absolutely fine for a city centre hotel. Overall, we didn't experience this as a 5* hotel, and our experience has made us think twice about the Sofitel brand in future.

The bath towels are old , some of them are slightly gray , not very comfortable using it. The design of the bathroom is not user friendly , not much space for cosmetic stuff. The window of the room is just too small , no natural light in room , creepy , tv turned on by itself at 2am , scary. Staff are ok young

Every thing was great but one of our bathrooms wasn’t good . The shower was either not working properly or either very difficult to use . Also the hand taps were literally falling to bits.

Hotel is in a great location, walkable to everything. Breakfast and dinner at Matiz was great, all of the restaurant and bar staff wonderful. Housekeeping slams doors in the morning instead of propping doors open and unplugged my phone chargers to plug lamps in which I didn’t like. Rooms are very dated, door to bathroom are difficult to open, shower floods and coffee maker is impossible to use. Had to go downstairs on my pajamas to get coffee in the morning. Beds are comfortable but amen Kyle’s in the room and usb plugs in bed are only on one side and didn’t work. Front desk staff was not great and when asked for help it was clear that they weren’t trained to asssit during the weekend when reservation department was closed. Not 5 star standards this in my opinion is a low 4 star hotel. Lots of improvements to be made and understand that a refurbishment is coming soon, but I choose it based on current conditions for 11 rooms and was extremely disappointed. The service wasn’t great and rooms were not up to industry standards of a 5 star hotel.
