Good stay but need improvement in order management

The stay in Mama shelter Lisboa is quite nice. The only point need to be improved is the order management. We were told our reservation of the large family room with balcony will be not available in advance and provided us one solution of providing us two middle rooms which can be connected together, the second room will be provided for free. So I agreed the solution and the rooms are quite nice for our family actually. The only problem are below: 1. We were told the price difference will be refunded later but until now I still haven’t received the refund yet. 2. I was requested to pay 100 Euros as assurance but also not refunded until 8 days after we checked out(automatically refunded), for me it is not a normal experience. I travelled a lot of countries and stayed a lot of hotels, this is the first time that pre-authorization has not been returned when checking out. So I sent an e-mail to the hotel staff to ask the questions above but not received any response.

A gem of a hotel in Lisbon close to the underground (with 1 change to the airport). It is about 20 minute walk to the main centre but there are lots of restaurants and bars close by so it does not feel like you are too far out. The roof top bar was great, it was Halloween so the bar downstairs was extremly busy and pumping with music. That said on the 4th floor we did not hear anything. We did grab a few cocktails downstairs and big shout out to the barman who had learnt how to do cocktails in New Zealand, he was amazing and made some great drinks. The room was compact but just right. My only gripe was the shower as it was tepid most of the time we used it.

Disappointing Stay at Mama Shelter Lisbon

I was disappointed with my recent stay at the Mama Shelter Hotel in Lisbon due to multiple issues. First, there was a severe lack of staff, resulting in a long wait time of at least 20 minutes at check-in, with only one person at the front desk assisting guests. Although I made the hotel reservation, my friend required a hotel confirmation letter for a visa application. I emailed the hotel but didn’t receive a timely response, forcing me to manually change the reservation details on the website. After doing so, my booking no longer appeared in my account. The hotel staff assured me via email that they would note my Platinum membership status and restore my points, but upon arrival, none of this had been recorded. When I reached my room and requested a room change, informing them of my Platinum membership status, I was still asked to wait at least ten minutes for a colleague to process the upgrade. At other Accor hotels, this is never an issue—upgrades are typically arranged prior to my arrival. Additionally, at check-out, I was informed of a bar charge that wasn’t mine. I had already paid for my own bar expenses at the time of purchase without providing my room number. After discussing this with the hotel, it became clear that the charge belonged to another guest, and it had been mistakenly added to my bill. If I hadn’t noticed, I would have been charged for something I didn’t consume. Overall, I am very dissatisfied with these issues and the lack of adequate service at this property.

Positiv: location- very close to city center and hop on hop off buses. Nice hotel- unusual and creative decoration, clean. Friendly staff. Dinner was very good too. The roof terrasse is wonderful! Negativ: but very little space for your toiletries (please add a shelf near the wash basin). No kettle for coffee/tea in the room. Quite expensive hotel.
