In a great location to get around the city. Staff helpful at reception. Housekeeping missed our room one day. Comfortable beds. Bathroom is open in the suites, so little privacy, other than the wc.

I spent 5 days at Mama Shelter Lisboa and delighted in everything! The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is gorgeous and conveniently located near the Rato metro station in a cool, chill neighborhood. The design around the hotel was playful and eclectic and the room super comfortable and chic. I loved every moment of being there!

I really enjoyed my stay at Mama Shelter in Lisbon. From arrival there was a warm friendly welcome at check in and I loved the overall decor and ambience of the hotel. My room was decorated beautifully, it was clean and super comfortable… the bed was super cosy and the room pretty soundproof to say it was overlooking the main road. I didn’t stay for breakfast but I did have a couple of drinks on the rooftop where it was relaxing and with a fabulous view of Lisbon. Only downside was that my stay was too short!… hope to see you again x

Location is poor - website description not reflected in our experience - need public transport to get to visitor attractions with limited local eateries. WiFi did not work during two days, the tap above basin loose with a poor previous repaire, floor dirty, tripped on loose floorboard on rooftop bar, one lift did not work for half our stay. In room there is nowhere to put folded clothes.

This area is such a nice place to stay - walkable to incredible restaurants and parks, and far enough away from the swarming tourist area that you feel you can actually take in some real neighbourhoods. I found all the shops and restaurants in the area to be excellent, service at the restaurant was so friendly, efficient, and fun! It's a short walk to the main streets, close to a few grocery stores if you want to add to your fridge. Rooms were fun, and very well laid out (room to open your suitcase, a closet, fridge, etc. Will absolutely stay here when I'm back!

We enjoyed the hotel, although it was too far from the bars and nightlife which seemed to be down near the seafront and main square.

Misleading and dishonest front desk staff. After a 12+ hour journey from Miami with a layover in Amsterdam, my partner and I arrived at the hotel exhausted — 4 hours before the official check-in time. I proactively offered to pay for early check-in. The front desk agent flatly refused, repeatedly insisting the hotel was at 100% capacity with no rooms available. What I observed told a very different story: walk-in guests were paying upfront and receiving rooms immediately, right in front of me. After waiting two hours and requesting a manager, a room was suddenly "found" and assigned to me within minutes. When I received my key, I noticed it had been sitting in a bowl alongside many other pre-prepared keys — clearly ready long before I was ever told a room was unavailable. This was not a capacity issue. It was a deliberate choice to turn away a tired, paying guest who had a reservation — while accommodating walk-ins at will. The dishonesty is the most frustrating part. A simple "we're prioritizing walk-ins right now" would have been more respectful than being lied to for two hours.

We had a very pleasant stay at Mama Shelter Lisbon. The hotel has a unique and stylish design, a great atmosphere, and a convenient location. We also appreciated the thoughtful gesture from the team in recognizing our anniversary with a cake and special touches in the room. The restaurant was excellent, and the pizza was one of the highlights of our stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout. There are a few areas that could be improved. The room had limited storage space for luggage and clothes, which may be challenging for longer stays. We also noticed that the scent in the room and hallways was quite strong and not always comfortable for us. In addition, having a wider selection of pillow types would help guests with different sleeping preferences. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the hotel’s design, location, restaurant, and hospitality. Thank you to the team for making our visit special.
