We were staying at a nearby Airbnb but had to book an extra day at this Ibis branch, so I can compare the two experiences. The Ibis hotel looked presentable and the room had great sound isolation, as well as a comfortable bed; about what I'd expect from most hotels. The disability accomodations were generally decent (albeit maybe a little smaller than I'd hoped). Unlike local Airbnb solutions, however, this Ibis room didn't include a microwave, coffee machine, stovetop, nor fridge or cupboards, and it cost more. Unfortunately, the Phillips TV in this Ibis room was genuinely atrocious. The cheapest / shoddiest desk screen (or computer monitor?) I've seen in years -- both in visual and audio quality. I couldn't see myself watching anything worthwhile on that small desk tele. Maybe some throwaway background noise, but nothing more. Also, usually I wouldn't complain about this kind of thing, but there's an elevator that used to go into the shopping center downstairs but, for whatever reason, it doesn't go that far down anymore, seemingly due to some sort of administrative decision. Again, this is a really petty complaint, but having to walk around the building when a perfectly functional elevator connection is RIGHT THERE felt oddly silly and lowered the overall score for us. It almost felt like Ibis wanted us to pay for their breakfast deals instead of going to the McDonalds downstairs. Because that's exactly what we did anyway, we were just slightly more annoyed. Net negative on that one. Overall this location is nice in a pinch, but I wouldn't stay here unless I really needed to get some rest in a quiet room which, admittedly, Airbnbs can't always reliably provide.

The hotel is in a great location, especially if visiting the university and for access to the metro. But the rooms are basic and looking a little tired. Some of the plaster was coming away from the wall in my room. And the breakfast options are very limited, unless you are happy with lots of bread and cake. More fruit and cheese/cold meats would be nice.
