Bathroom sink virtually blocked, barely any space to move around the room with extra bed, extra bed duvet had no cover, nowhere but floor to put cases on unless completely unpacked (which is obviously impractical on single night stay)

I knew Ibis is budget but I did not realised that it is so much budget. Extremally small room, small breakfast selection. The biggest problem - described as non - smoking but it is allowed to smoke in external hotel areas, even in the garden dedicated for eating breakfast.

All very good with this Ibis hotel. Friendly welcome, attentive staff, very clean and fresh looking decor throughout, excellent room service. The rooms are quite modern style, which is fine for me. My only minor comment is that the beds in the twin rooms are quite small - still comfortable but narrow. Not a big issue. Breakfast is excellent, with some lovely touches such as fresh honey (incl. honeycomb!), a fresh pancake machine, self-squeeze orange juice, homemade marmalade, and an ample supply of gorgeous pasteles de nata! Location is good. Out of town being in Vila Nova de Gaia, south of the river, but great for access to the Douro river, Sao Pedro de Afurada fishing village and there's a modern shopping mall within ten minutes walk. Uber's into Porto town are cheap and plentiful. Would definitely stay again.

very welcoming and helpful staff, we didn't have breakfast but still available when paid for,double room very adequate with tv (some English channels with subs) beds are very comfortable with a table, could do with 1/2 chairs, bathroom nice and clean, but no lock or catch on bathroom door which can be annoying cleaners come daily unless you put sign on door handle

I had a high expectation with Ibis, however it was very disapointed my stay. The front office staff was great, the breakfast was very good but it was supposed to be opened from 6am to 12 O'clock, however about 11:15am the waitress stoped to replenish the food and began to remove food away. We were selected to room 211 but the AC was not working and the room was very hot, then we were tranfered to room 201 with an individual AC, which was not working as well. We complained to front desk and they informed us that they would send somebody to check it. Nobody ever came and we were so tired to try to move again, we decided to sleep with the window opened and the fan on. No follow-up from the hotel about this issue. In both rooms 211 and 201 the bathroom was smelling urine, we asked the hskp to clean room 201 and she did and sprayed clorox. I think that the maintenance protocol should be reviewed to make sure that the AC really works in all guestroom (Rooms PM) and a HSKP supervisor should be checking rooms before release them for occupance.

The rooms are very small but serviceable and the bed was great. Staff though, was incredible. They offered the best ideas for visiting great places nearby and how to get around. Sandra helped me plan the best beach D. ever on one of my weekdays here along with an interesting walk and discovery of the fishing village nearby with excellent food. Can't say enough good things about the staff! Breakfast was on the pricier side by absolutely delicious and plentiful.
