Check in was smooth. Very friendly staff. Shame guests are unable to have a drink at the pool terrace in the evenings, only in the bar. We had an option to not have our room cleaned on the first morning. Unfortunately my husband had a bad bout of food poisoning on the second morning and again we chose not to have room cleaned in order for him to recover. When passing reception I was asked if I wanted room cleaned so I explained why. We had an Executive Room Sea View with free minibar. This was only restocked once during our stay. It was our wedding anniversary during our stay and husband asked if hotel could do something special (he was happy to pay) They brought a bottle of sparkling wine and lovely cake - thank you, a lovely surprise and they did not charge. Check out was qui k and easy.

I spend two days with my son in Novotel Porto Gaia. It's a great hotel, good services and amenities. Good breakfast, pool and comfortable beds. Good value for maney, overall.Afurada is really beautiful too. Will definitly return.

Me and my brothers had the most horrible experience one could have in a one night hotel stay. The room appeared tidy however the sofa bed smelled dusty, and unclean like a dog has just spend the night there — and unfortunately so did the bed covers. I understand that the hotel is pet-friendly but I would expect it to be able to maintain the rooms clean and free of allergens and smells for other guests too. Otherwise it's more like a Pet hotel ? My youngest brother unfortunately went to sleep and woke with body sores like something had bitten him at night.... I think we can only wonder what it might be .... Appalling Service and one certainly never to repeat again!

I really love this hotel. It has everything we expected from a hotel in the city, but the location is perfect for feeling a bit further away from the main historic centre. The staff was very friendly, they all spoke Spanish well and were very accomodating. They even updgraded us a sea view executive room and we had a free minibar which we are really grateful for. My boy loved the pool and playground and the big chess!
