We stayed at the Mercure Porto Centro Santa Catarina for 6 nights in the second half of May. The hotel had been recommended to us by a Portuguese friend. We were completely pleased with our experience. The staff was very friendly and seemed eager to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were modern and tastefully decorated. The bicycle restaurant, where we had a very nice breakfast daily, was uniquely decorated with bicycles, bicycle parts and bicycle-oriented metal decorations. We took advantage of the hotel's limited garage space which enabled us to conveniently make the side trips which we enjoyed daily. The hotel is located across the street from an open plaza filled with artisans stands during the day. There are many restaurants of various levels within easy walking distance of the hotel. Should we have the pleasure of returning to Porto, we will make every effort to stay at the Mercure Porto Centro Santa Catarina again.

We were happy with the location of this hotel. Very central and walkable to all attractions in Porto. Staff and service is top notch and the breakfast was great too. We thought the rooms were too tight and would have appreciated some extra space. The air conditioning was ok. We had to open the windows at night to get the room cool. Overall I would recommend this place if you are traveling light or just have one or two nights.

Staff were friendly, and we were delighted with the upgrade. The room was fine, but a few things were a bit tired looking (for a 4 star) and no smart tv was disappointing

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was perfect for the various transport links (train and metro) that we needed to use, and was very close to the important sights in the city. We were amazed at how good the chef's menu del dia was, and because it was such good value, we ate in the hotel three times; each meal was amazing... and on the first night, we were able to benefit from the promotional wine offer, which made the whole experience even better! Our room was very comfortable and had plenty of room for our bags.
