I booked a deluxe studio ocean view purely for the ‘ocean view’. Which in the pictures appeared that we would see the view from anywhere in the room, even from bed as the room was at the front of the building. On arrival my partner checked in and was told we were getting an upgrade. A pleasant way to start our weekend away. However, when we took the lift to our room we found that the upgrade was at the back of the building with an ocean view only if you were to go out on the balcony and look out and to the right. Our bedroom view was buildings, exactly the opposite of what the pictures led me to believe I was booking. We weren’t upgraded as a nice gesture by “The Sebel” staff but only as an attempt to shift focus from the real issue which was room availability. If there were no deluxe studios’ available we should have been contacted prior and had the opportunity to make other arrangements. My partner immediately went to reception to ask what had happened with the rooms and why we didn’t have the ocean view we booked, as per pictures. Staff stated that ‘technically’ it is still an ocean view. It is false advertising, it is misleading and it was an extremely disappointing beginning to my partners birthday weekend. We did not book the room we were allocated, we did not request an upgrade and we were told as there was no other rooms available there was nothing they could do. The fact that people can book these rooms when they are unavailable is appalling. The lack of communication about the room availability prior to us arriving is also unacceptable as staff would have been aware prior.

Although the weather was quite bad when we arrived it cleared the next day and we ended up having a really pleasant stay.

Enjoyable stay, easy access to shops and restaurants with nearby transport options to Sydney city. Availability of hotel parking a real plus, although spaces were quite limited. Staff at reception very helpful. Swimming pool was very clean and easily accessible.

Room was lovely - decor was stunning Only criticism is that the bed is way too small - double doesnt cut it. But thank god for the sofa bed (not ideal though) Car parking g was an issue as our car didn’t fit and other car park was full even though we reserved a spot. They did refund our parking cost !

I found the apartment to be very comfortable/ lovely decor. Located opposite the beach, everything was on my doorstep - didn’t need my car. Front desk & house keeping staff were great. I loved my stay.

The location and the quality of the apartments made it a truly relaxing holiday. The apartment was spacious, and beautifully finished in terms of choice of fabrics and furniture. There are a few odd design faults, such as the kitchen sink being set towards the back of the counter, so that you have to lean forward in order to turn the tap on... Cleanliness was great, except for the laundry area which obviously gets overlooked and was quite dusty and sandy). The cleaning team were very helpful and courteous however. The ocean view is unparalleled. Location, location, location! Ordering room service through hotel reception doesn't seem to work, as some of the people at reception were not very experienced and did not understand the restaurant menu. This led to us getting a dish other than the one we had ordered. The restaurant were the losers as we had to send it back. I think it would be best if guests could order direct from the restaurant. Reception staff sometimes a little too speedy and too much focussed with their computers to engage properly with guests. This leaves a bad impression. One evening however, we had a problem with lack of power in the flat and the staff in this case (different from the people mentioned in the previous sentence) were very helpful in finding a solution to the problem.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was fantastic- the only thing I would say is either there was no fan for the bathroom or we couldn’t find it? Apart from that everything was superb. Location is great.
