This is a very unique property located right on Sydney Harbour. The views from the property are amazing both during the day and night. The rooms are simple but clean. Quarantine beach is perfect for swimming, snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding. The property holds some very interesting history, if you wish to do one of the history or ghost tours I would highly recommend pre-booking these especially during weekends and school holidays however you can easily wander around the buildings and visit the museum without a tour, at no charge. There are not many meal options (venues) however Manly is close by if need be. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, I wish we had stayed a little longer.

The site, history and amenities were great. The room was comfortable although not well kept with broken curtains and dirty in places. I understand that it is supposed to be rustic but the curtains are the direct privacy from the outside walkway only metres away from the bed.

I took my mum here for a two night stay, and we went on a ghost tour with the amazing Nick who was our guide, he was funny and really friendly and made us feel like we having A really grea time; and then suddenly there were ghosts! Awesome stay, super yummy food. All the staff were amazing and the site was splendid.

The bed was uncomfortable. The room was muggy . The fan was only working on low and the was a leak in our room from the rain.

We stayed as a group of 7 girls at the queen heritage rooms. We were very happy with the service at reception and the room standard. Our dinner at the boiler house was very good quality and service, although we had to pay for 11 people rather than the 10 who dined due to having confirmed 11 people previously. Our breakfast at views restaurant was excellent. We were all happy with our stay.

We paid through Luxury Tours for an upgraded deluxe ocean view room only to find our the couples in the adjoining rooms who all had exactly the same rooms and views did not pay the $100 upgrade. The buffet breakfast was very poor and not at all to a four star hotel. The warm food was tepid, the food kept running out, the toasters all only toasted on one side. My husband tried the scrambled egg on the first day to find not only was it cold but it was so spicy he couldn't eat it, the bacon was so overcooked it crumbled. On our second day we were asked if we would like poached eggs we both agreed but after waiting for them for over 30 minutes we were informed they weren't available as the chef had walked off.

Booked the Ghost Tour package. We had a small problem with the room which was sorted out without a fuss. The Ghost Tour was interesting and enjoyable. We had dinner at the Boiler House which was excellent. Breakfast as part of the package was very good as well. Accomodation whilst not like new was excellent considering that age of the property and fit well into the atmosphere and character of the property.

Loved everything except the lack of air conditioning in the sleeping quarters. This seems small but significant if Y. can't sleep well. Staff were friendly and VERY hospitable. The food was delicious. Scenery was stunning. Wonderful experience - not sure I'd recommend the Sleeping Accomodation, in Summer ,with no air conditioning.....

I slipped on the bathroom floor and broke my elbow which requires surgery to replace the elbow. The tiles on the floor in the toilet & bathroom are very slippery.

My wife and I had a most relaxing and enjoyable two days. The breakfast was excellent, the room very clean and bed extremely comfortable. The view from our friends room on the veranda on P12 was spectacular. We ate the first night at the boilerhouse- a nice meal but over priced for what we got. The second night we enjoyed a hearty pizza and burgers outside next to the restaurant- very pleasant. The history was good but a lot of standing around- need to be on the move more or be able to sit down during the longer talk. The fan was good in our room but would hate to be there on a really hot night- to to have screens so you can open doors without fear of bush turkeys sleeping with us. Understand that split air- con would ruin the outside appearance but maybe investigate underneath the building where air -con could be placed and vents through the floor? Would help for summer and winter cold. Overall a great experience but please advise ferry times during the day from the wharf. Cheers, John

Had no idea this place existed, it was peaceful with wonderful views of the harbor with easy quick access to both Manley and the City. The rooms were clean and well maintained and the breakfast excellent.

Our check in was rushed, I was told around 20 items of information in about a minute and a half. I was told my friends could not park their car behind the house, even though there were eight free spaces. My husband has a spinal issue and walks with a stick, after walking in and unpacking and then picking up our friends to unpack I wanted to make welcome drinks. I discovered there were no shelves on the door of fridge and no ice cube tray and the phone was not working. I rang reception (on my own phone) and was told they would send someone. Nothing happened for 30 mins so i drove down to the restaurant to pick up some ice. I was verbally abused on the way back, and had absolutely no idea i was not allowed to drive. She said "I told you this two hours ago!". I remembered being told there was a 15km limit and only to park in the designated parking spot. Also that there was a shuttle bus but my stop was not marked on my booklet. This set the tone for the weekend!

We booked two nights in January at Q Station in a Queen Deluxe Harbour View Room via Luxury Escapes. The location is really unique and the history fascinating. Unfortunately the room was not. The bed is really comfortable, however the room was hot and humid with just a fan that pushed the hot air down instead of cooling. A small sash window with a fly screen was the only place to let fresh air in through the night, apart from leaving the French doors (no fly screen to keep the mozzies out) open onto the entry verandah. The walls are bare with no art or anything on them. We know the building we stayed in was only built a couple of years ago and made to look like the others. Air-con would definitely have made it more appealing. Interestingly, on arrival at the Q Station you are greeted with air con in the reception foyer. That's where it ends. This may seem like a whinge, but trying to sleep on a hot humid Sydney night with little fresh air, made for a crappy sleep. Breakfast at Views Restaurant was ordinary with the hot food from the bain-marie actually cold. The Boiler House Restaurant was great. The food fresh and full of flavour and staff so friendly and professional. Will definitely return to the restaurant. Ghost tour was interesting with lots of stories. Only downside was there was about 26 people in the tour which was too big. Would we return again or recommend to others? The Boiler House restaurant yes, but not to stay.

rooms basic but good facilities. Shower very weak. Very good food although one person's meal arrived after everyone else had finished. Good bar area at the beach. Great breakfast with plenty of everything and enough choice. History tour very interesting. Bike hire bit iffy as 2 of the 4 bikes were unridable. Loved the bush and the wildlife (we had scrub turkeys and possums in our room when door left open).
