Location is beautiful but rooms were less then we expected. The bar fridge smelled like spoiled milk, and the room was basic and lacking common sense amenities. Tv was on wall but could not be watched from the bed. There were no bed side table lamps on either bedside table-just one big light overhead in the room which was very glaring when trying to relax in bed at night and read

Initially very disorganised. Couldn’t make restaurant bookings on line unless I wanted 8 or 8.30pm for a booking 3 weeks in advance. Received an invoice and charge for a booking included. Restaurant booking was then made under the wrong day. All fixed with phone calls but annoying none the less. Although our room did not officially have a view it was on a corner with water views between 2 buildings which was nice.

The accommodation is simple but well appointment and comfortable. The semi private beach is magic. The visits from multiple wildlife to our verandah was fabulous. Food at the restaurant and cafe coffee was good. Service a little slow probably relating to COVID - restaurant seemed slightly under staffed and they ran out of gas while we were there so no eggs one morning. So close to Manly and yet could've been anywhere!

Beautiful location but not great

We stayed with a small baby so we couldn't eat at the restaurant for dinner. Even though we could order Uber Eats there is no cutlery or plates in the room which made it difficult to order food. And the restaurant on site wouldn't loan us any! Every day we had to ask for an extra towel for the baby and we twice had to ask for more toilet paper as it didn't come the first time. We had breakfast at the restaurant and that was just strange! Servers that didn't offer you any water, and would come to clear the table but only take away one coffee cup? Ask for extra toast for the baby and they would bring the dry toast with no butter or condiments. Glad we didn't wait for extra butter as it never came! The man at reception had no idea which way we would be able to walk from the room to the restaurant with a pram and sent us down a path with lots and lots of stairs. When we booked to stay we also asked to book the history tour on the Sunday morning - the only time that would work for us with a baby. We were told it was all sorted. Never heard anything back. Then received an email the week we were due to come stay - I replied asking to confirm the history tour. And nothing was booked for us. Luckily the history tour booking lady also told us about the fact we wouldn't be able to drive our car to our room. With a baby we have lots of stuff. I explained we were coming with a baby when we booked as we talked about a cot for her. But the booking person never mentioned the fact that we would be leaving our car somewhere else and getting a mini bus! Food Rubbish sat on the table outside our room from before we arrived until we left. We ordered a movie to watch - it never worked. Called up reception and they said they would reset the TV the next day. That never happened and the movie never worked the next night either. It's such a shame as the location is so lovely, and the rooms are lovely. But the service needs some work. I'm not rushing back.

Location is of course everything for the Q Station.

Some disappointment with room allocated to us - views not as expected. Minor problems with only two milks supplied and same with only two packets of biscuits. Also, breakfast disappointing (accepting covid reasons) but service in the restaurant was less than expected.

Gorgeous natural setting close to the city

We love Q Station, but was left with a bit of a bad taste in our mouths after checking out. I left my mobile phone charger in my room and plugged into the wall socket. I think I called 3 times to see if housekeeping had retrieved it, only to find out they hadn’t, which I kind of find hard to believe. But anyway, it was my fault. I need to be more vigilant upon departure.

Fabulous location, extremely helpful staff

Very happy with our stay here. The service from all the staff was fantastic, the food was good and the rooms are beautiful (we stayed in an isolation apartment). My youngest son loved the ghost tour. I will be coming back soon with my mum next time!

We took a weekend break on the Labour day long weekend and had a wonderful experience. Being Sydneysiders we enjoyed just sitting on the veranda watching the harbour. It was most relaxing. The accommodation was very good and the Boiler House restaurant both the food and staff were outstanding . the outlet manager and his team were amazing. We felt safe with all the COVID-19 precautions that the hotel had in place and appreciated their systems to comply with then Health Regulations.

All my grandson wanted to do was watch TV so we did not get to walk around and enjoy the natural environment. I found room clean, staff friendly. Our breakfasts were delicious. The only comment I would make that is a criticism is that the bed had a bottom sheet and two sheets enclosing a doona, which kept falling away so we were constantly touching the doona. I assume this is not drycleaned or washed every time? I did not like this and would prefer a proper cover over the doona.

Great position

Everyone - receptionists, drivers, nearby workmen (who let us back in the room when my granddaughter shut the door), all the staff at the restaurant- gave us great safe service and hospitality. Thank you all for a lovely stay.

Our family stayed in one of the 3 bedroom cottages, the accomodation was tidy and all essentials were provided which was great. It was very peaceful and enjoyed walking around the grounds. Breakfast was included which was a treat but only limited options available. Kids loved doing the scavenger hunt. The only negative is that it is secluded and you need to get u er to get into town to have dinners and that the ferry weren’t departing from the wharf but this was due to Covid.

Amazing Location!

Wow what an amazing stay! The Q Station has left the best impressions! We were greeted with a friendly smile from the moment we walked into reception to check-in. The staff were very accommodating and provided us with all necessary information. They explained the measures they are taking regarding COVID and keeping their guests safe which made us feel comforted. We had dinner at the Boilerhouse. We loved the design and architecture. Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation and out of this world desserts. From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left, we had an awesome time. The staff made us feel very special and although they were busy taking care of other diners, took the time to make sure we were happy with everything and were enjoying ourselves. We would highly recommend the Q Station to anyone looking for friendly, professional, hospitable service, beautiful historic accommodation with amazing views and spectacular grounds.
