Disappointed

Not happy , Q Station only seem to be interested in Corporate Parties & not the private .Firstly our dinner at Boiler House was rushed as we were asked to come earlier & vacate table by 7.15pm so Corporate people were accommodated. Also other couples were asked to come earlier and be out by 7.15pm ?Then once back to our room . Rowdy disturbance from Midnight on till approx 3.30am, drunken men running up & down our verandah, vomiting over balcony, finally we called security , a lady came and took the drunk men to their rooms .Finally QStation is a unique piece of history , beautiful location , however We believe the Corporate People should be housed separately to the private couples like us .

Dreadful customer service

Found check in very underwhelming - Rita was disinterested, abrupt and very unwelcoming. She explained some of the facilities, but when I asked questions she responded, “I will get to that” but didn’t. We were not told that there would be no dining options available at all on Sunday evening. Our room was serviced on the first day, however the bed was only half made??? Then when I rang to get it serviced on the second day, I was told that we weren’t eligible for a full service. We also only received the bare minimum - 2 coffee sachets, 2 teabags??? The shuttle bus service seemed to be an inconvenience for the staff and was extremely slow for pick ups - we waited 35 minutes for a pick up when we wanted to check out and reception wasn’t busy. On Saturday night while we were waiting at reception for a shuttle, I observed the worst customer service ever. There was a gentleman booking in with an infant and Rita was extremely unhelpful to him. When he asked her if there was a microwave in the room to heat up the baby food, her response was “not in your room “ and when he asked how he could heat it up she shrugged and said “maybe the restaurant could do it” - not an easy option considering how far the restaurant was located from the rooms. I understand that it is hard to get staff at the moment but poor customer service really impacts the way you feel about a stay. Having said all this, we enjoyed an excellent meal at The Boilerhouse on Friday evening and the staff there were fantastic. The breakfasts were also lovely and the staff there were great - especially Ashta who was very welcoming.

Reception was excellent and shuttles worked very well. Breakfast was fine and restaurant was terrific. Enjoyed heritage tour and ghost tour.. Big disappointment was the kiosk on wharf. Chap serving coffee was not aware of the free ones on card. Food was ordinary and not much choice. It was particularly slow and Sas we ate there on two occasions it was really disappointing and something I would not recommend to others

The venue itself we had no issues with and enjoyed the tours and accommodations. Check in took an hour. I found a short black hair in my mushrooms at breakfast. The second time found a very long black hair. Put off breakfast and stuck with toast. We had dinner in the restaurant on the Sunday night. It was a long weekend and due to the number of guests the opened with a two course set menu of a roast. The food was sitting on the service area not under heat lamps as it would dry out. It appeared it was then being cut and placed into the Bain Marie to heat before service. The food was barely warm but luckily the bernaise sauce was hit so made it edible (There was no where else to eat). The salad served for entree was fabulous.
