It commenced 2 days prior to arrival with a lady named Karen (from reception) calling to advise that despite weather predictions (Cyclone Narrelle) Palm Cove was expecting sunny weather for the duration of our 4 day stay! That farcical statement aside, the state of cleanliness/ repair of the room was disappointing. The entrance door appeared dirty, smeared, scuffed, yellowed. There was mould on the bathroom ceiling (no fan ventilation in bathroom) The pelmet above balcony door (TV side) has obvious water damage and has rotted away from the wall. Stench of urine on the balcony. Only 2 drinking glasses. It is obvious that property maintenance is not a priority. Poorly lit walkways (from room to lift) in the evening. Poor restaurant service /attentiveness. Pool bar opens at 11:30, but closes at 5??? Games room not open, was hoping for a chess board, cards, something to do whilst sitting out the rain…..

Staff are great, only had breaky there but we should have tried dinner, top location only a short walk to the shops / restaurants, pool is ultra relaxing, so hard packing up and leaving.

Mixed feelings about this stay. Great experience before coming, the hotel made the room special for my daughters birthday. Room was great and on the beachfront. Pools great and location on the beach. Unfortunately the foods not great, limited menu at the pool bar and still had missing ingredients- quality not the best. Breakfast is just too slow, takes over an hour to come and can be overcooked if yours is the one that is left under the heat lamps while the others are cooked. Fridge wasn't working in our room and tv remotes missing, reception not answering the phone. Great hotel, but needs improvement.
