had to go to reception numerous times for small things that normally shouldnt be missed, cups, kettle, and no eating facilities onsite, have to walk out and go down the road for breakfast or dinner

Apartments are well located however overall condition of property is tired and needs improvements/refreshing. Pool is excellent and very popular with our young family however it requires maintenance, missing tiles and mould around the area is off putting and dangerous.

I was up in Cairns for business having been on the road since 4a.m I arrived at the hotel around 4:30pm in the afternoon where Vanessa on Reception seemingly took great pleasure is informing me that yes, although the room had been booked, they had not received the chargeback for from the Government travel agency that we use. I subsequently called the travel agency who informed the hotel that they had indeed sent all of the paperwork in response to Richard's email at the time of booking by way of reply to the original email. Nevertheless, they agree to send the paperwork again and I was asked to take a seat whilst reception awaited the response and dealt with other guests. I was left sitting there for 35 minutes whilst Vanessa just dealt with every single guest that arrived and did not bother to check the emails or deal with me waiting who just wanted to get into my room and shower after a long day. I decided to que again and when it was my turn to be served by the English "queen of sass" (I don't know his name) I was informed by him quite happily that "oh yes we have received the form but as the agent does not have an account with us, we will need credit card information from them" to which I asked them if he had bothered to call the agent back to request this information and was told that they had not indeed contacted them. So I was quite annoyed that they had left me sat there for 35 minutes knowing that my situation was not progressing and didn't bother to let me know. Another call to the travel agent got me through to the original booking agent who asked me to put her on speaker to the receptionists and subsequently refuted any claimed that they had not received any paperwork in the first instance at the time of booking and made them double check. When they had actually bothered to check the details were apparently there. So nearly an hour after arriving at reception I was handed my key card and told verbatim ":The rooms wont be cleaned daily but if you need fresh towels come to reception". What a lovely start to the stay. Spoiler alert: The room never got cleaned once the whole week I was there! Upon entering the room and taking a shower I could see that the towels were well past their useful life and stained orange. I opted to boil was all of the towels myself in the apartment rather than have to deal with any of the ex. Karen's diner staff on reception. The following morning I woke up with bite marks all over by back in the areas where I had been sitting on the couch in the room. This couch should either be throw out or fumigated. I would have liked to have used the hotel pool during my stay but there are no maps or information to guide the way to the pool within the hotel and there was no way I was dealing with anybody on reception again, Instead I opted to walk down the road to the lagoon. Working in Film an TV, I have stayed in many Mantra's across Australia and this is by far the worst I have encountered in regards to staff attitude, cleanliness and outdatedness. I can categorically say that I will never stay at this resort again and will actively discourage anybody who listens from staying there also.

It was ok, the bed cover was stained / dirty and the floor smelt musty. I was comfortable but the room was very small.
