When we checked in we found the room had not been used for some time. There was mould on the walls, a musty smell, and we very disappointed.

This hotel bills itself as a 4 star, but the rooms are very weathered and distressed, especially the bathrooms and carpeting in the hallway. Front desk staff were really unfriendly and unhelpful. In fact, the gentleman that check us in was very cranky both at check-in and check-out. The staff at the restaurant were equally impolite; one would think they were chosen because of their lack of customer service skills. Breakfast preparation was inconsistent from day to day. I can't find anything positive to say about this hotel except that it's within walking distance to the boardwalk.

We stayed overnight on our way through to Darwin. The room was very clean, modern and comfortable. Staff were great, breakfast was nice, a little slow (only one chef working) but the food was great!
