Good location, close to shops and restaurants. Room was clean. Only problem was the coffee machine in the breakfast room wasn't working properly for the first five of our six day stay.

The hotel is ideally located within Cairns and all tourist attractions. Our room was very nice, the swimming pool a good place to recover even if it was rainy. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

I stayed for 5 days whilst on a work trip. The pillows were lumpy. I asked for replacements and was told they were all the same and that they had no spares but I was brought two new pillows and one was usable. I phoned the week before my trip to ask if a microwave was in my room and was told yes. There wasnt one. Housekeeping did not visit on one of the days to replace towels and make bed. The air conditioner tilt blade was broken preventing airflow from the unit.

The motel is now starting to show its age. Needs updating. Noisy hearing people walk past the door. No restaurant for dinner. Website says early 2026. Breakfast is a buffet. Could be warmer as food was on cooler side. No cafe style coffee only Automatic self service coffee.

Mercure Cairns was a really comfortable stay for us: two separate bedrooms in the well-appointed family suite meant that we could have our rest at a later time than the kids. Speaking of: the beds and pillows were excellent; they were nice and firm. They gave us all a wonderful night's sleep during our time in Cairns, though we often awoke to the wailing sirens of emergency vehicles, given the Mercure's central location. Mercure was a short walk away from the Cairns Esplanade Lagoon, Cairns Aquarium, and the cafes and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the vibe from the reception to the room was very chill: a perfect start to our Cairns holiday. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

From my first interaction with staff at reception to check out, we were very very satisfied with Mercure Cairns. The room was very clean. We loved that we could open a window to control temperature along with an efficient split system. The pool was clean and the atmosphere around the pool was relaxing. The location was perfect for all of our needs. Close to rental car drop off points, close to walk to everything we needed to for our weekend in Cairns. I highly recommend Mercure Cairns and will definitely look to rebook on our next visit to Cairns. We chose Mercure, as they are always reliable.

We are regular visitors to Cairns, but this was the first time at Mercure. The location was perfect. Staff were friendly & helpful. The Loft style was different but had its advantages. Always we appreciate the kitchenette.

We stayed 9 nights at the Mercure; the staff were excellent and genuinely willing to assist if needed. Our room was a loft room which gave us a more sense of space, with the bed being up some stairs, we had a queen bed but could have benefited more from a king size which we are used to. Breakfast was great, you could not fault it, if items were low, you only had to ask and it was replenished. We picked up our car on the 5th day, and parking was quite easy even though the Mercure only had 2 spaces on a first come first served basis, but it was not a problem, as there were free parks right in front of the hotel and just around the corner. I would definitely stay in this hotel again, as it is in a great location.
