Third year I have stayed at peppers in January and paid the high price. However the bed in the room was like sleeping on concrete. Ended up with a sore back and worst sleep in a long time. Use the $1160 I paid for 2 nights and by some pillow toppers or something. Told the staff as well. Also the spa had sand in it so we didn’t use it. Also told the staff.

A few issues we had. Our room was not ready at 2pm after we arrived & advised reception we had arrived in Palm Cove at 12pm. We were given a few cocktail each but as we had been up since 4.30am in morning & travelling we did not expect that. We were not given a safe key either & had to go back for it. Small items & our overall stay was great.

I was shocked to be asked to prove that I was a Diamond member and had to ask where the welcome pack was. Additionally, after going up 3 flights of steps without a lift, we were told we were upgraded but could not have the extra room which was illogical as it could not be used by anyone else.

Peppers Palm Cove is one of the better located beach hotels in Queensland mainland. We were here during pick stinger and crocodiles season, and even just swimming within the small netted area in front of the hotel was very nice. The facilities are great, well maintained and very practical, but you really pay for the location as there is very little luxury in the hotel. The included buffet brakefast was well presented with reasonably good produce, although relatively limited variety (specially for gluten free options). The breakfast chef was incredible though. He prepared eggs for me and my mum to order exactly the way we wanted them (and we are both very particularly in different ways with our eggs). You can really see he loves cooking and cooks with passion. One thing that we though really was a let down was the arrival infrastructure and arrangements. The hotel does not have a proper entrance area or a way to park your car to check in reception. Furthermore, we arrived under torrential rain (not uncommon in this area this time of the year) and even though we called on the phone asking for directions 3 minutes before arriving, and despite the fact that we let them know we were arriving with my mum who is 80 years old, we would have though that given the lack of entrance infraestructura, and considering we were paying over $800 per night they would have had someone with umbrellas waiting for us to help us get to reception dry and safe. Instead we had to leave the car in a no oarking area and walk under the torrential rain over slippery surfaces before getting to an undercover corredor to then walk through pass the restaurant to get to receptionil. This can easily be improved by instructing the staff to wait for guests with umbrellas (which they have) specially when torrential rain is coming down and guest call just before arriving. We will probably come back perhaps in spring or fall if we can find a better deal.
