We had a lovely time, room was adequate but quite small and no drawer space. Not enough room to comfortably put suitcases anywhere. Nominal bench space in the bathroom. Pool area was lovely. Mexican restaurant was disappointing.

Poor experience due to hotel

No room service, staff blamed Covid & did not want staff interaction with guests yet house keeping were in the room daily. This was a poor decision that could have been handled much better with no interaction at all by leaving it at your door so no face to face. Pools not being maintained, rocks in the front pool floor that ripped our sons feet apart. Staff not policing guests that put towels out on lounges for hours reserving them for shade when not even on site. Don’t have a no reservation rule if you can’t police it as we were told by staff. Wait times for food which you could only order from the pool bar was atrocious. Staff in pool bar that had no idea how to make cocktails or what is in them. So many issues this year that are not overly vivid related as pool maintenance guy is there every morning, for one example. Just rude staff that did not know what was going on, in each department. This hotel is expensive and yet the service each year is getting poorer and the maintenance of the site/rooms is just down right not happening. We were not told on check in there is no room service, yet still being advised by other staff you were told on check in…. Leaving us most nights struggling to get dinner for the family as the restaurants in the hotel foyer were closed most nights. So disappointed we have been coming here for years and it was just terrible with no care from staff. Poor decisions by management that were not necessary.

Dear Elise, Really sorry to hear about your experience here at Peppers Palm Cove. Unfortunately due to COVID and staffing issues we can not operate our room service for the time being. We are currently in the process of trying to fix this as we are working on a take away menu for when we have dinner open so we are hoping this will fix the issue until we can find a permanent fix (dinner is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday). We do recommend to guest that if they are wanting to go out and eat that they do book ahead as most restaurants within palm cove do close a bit early, we are also more than happy to help you with this if needed. Our pool is currently going through a clean but has to be done in stages. Due to the holiday season this can sometimes be a bit hard due to the amount of people occupying the pool area. We are also currently in the process of trying to fix the issue with people reserving the chairs but unfortunately sometimes this can be a bit hard to police due to staffing issues and it being busy. Our rooms are also currently going through scheduled renovations so we are hoping this will uplift the rooms a bit more. Hotel was great and the pool area is definitely a winner! Disappointing the restaurants were both closed for dinner for our stay. The rooms are a bit tired and could use a refresh, no need for the huge tv cabinet that made the room seem smaller than it was. Also the "ocean spa" isn't exactly an ocean view, might be better marketed as a "Partial ocean view spa". If it was a window on a cruise ship it would be considered fully obstructed.

With the rooms, they are currently going through staged renovations. We hope this will help with the "tired" look and up lift the rooms a bit more! Hopefully when you return they will all be done. It’s a lovely hotel but as a family we were really disappointed that our rooms were not located near to each other. My husband and I had to sleep separately with a child each due to the two rooms being on different floors. Hotel was advised of ages of children at time of booking

Enjoyed our stay at Peppers, issue with our room type was quickly resolved with complementary upgrade. Staff were friendly and helpful and room was clean. Unfortunately due to Covid, many restaurants were booked out or closed. It was difficult to find somewhere to eat without a booking.

Our stay at Peppers was unlike any other, as we have stayed in previous years without such complications. The main concern was the cleaning and maintenance service. The laundry was flooded mid trip through the light fixture and was not rectified despite promises made by staff. We had to repeatedly request towels and shower products until departure, as despite the prepaid package for daily service, this was not received. Otherwise, the pool facility and location is quite lovely. Don’t bother including breakfast.

Lovely view from the ocean spa room. Great pools in the hotel and a great party atmosphere by the bar in the lagoon pool. Not much privacy on the verandah to use the spa. Bed was extremely uncomfortable. Two twin beds pushed together to make a king bed leaving a hard bump in the middle of the bed. Could have had a more plush mattress given the luxury of the hotel.

I was disappointed in the La Mesa food. None of the members of our party of 4 enjoyed the food at all. I would not recommend to anyone to eat there. Pricey and my meal in particular was inedible. I was charged for 2 cocktails at the pool bar and only had 1. I would be interested to see proof of 2 dockets that I had signed at the bar. This process may need to be reviewed.

From the moment we checked in there were issues, from the keys not being coded correctly, miscommunication between the staff, massages with a broken aircon that left us both ill, breakfast inclusion was less than appetising, no one maintained the social distancing and mask wearing rules i.e housekeeping in the rooms not wearing masks, no one maintaining the rules of the hotel.

Breakfast was, in our opinion, overpriced. Fans are needed on balconies. Staff are friendly and very accommodating. We would stay here again as it’s very well located, clean and Neptunes Restaurant was fantastic.

Great location, but biggest negatives/disappointments were - cleanliness of pool, internet was ridiculously slow, buffet breakfast was ordinary, rooms need to be refurbished (furniture in my room was a bit tatty) All staff were friendly except for 1 lady in Dining & was in cocktail bar 1 morning setting up
