We always enjoy our stay at Novotel Cairns. The parking is easy to get in and out of and there is always space. The rooms are a bit small with few family room options but they are adequate. The reception, bar and restaurant location make it really functional and the common spaces are great to use.

Great resort pool

Poor experience with bar staff. Staff were unhappy, unfriendly, unhelpful. On once occasion I was told to go to the inside bar myself to get stock that the pool bar had run out of. I was in the pool. We came for the resort experience. Sharing the pool with 40 + small children and their parents who were not resort guest really ruined this experience. Please re think your function/ party policy. Full paying guests should not feel like they were at a public pool. Under 18s should not be allowed at the swim up bar. We had to ask kids to move from the stools so we could order drinks. Terrible experience. The pool is your greatest asset and the experience could be improved with live music or DJ poolside for happy hour. The exterior is run down and needs a good clean. Rooms were clean and cleaning and reception staff friendly enough.

Poor air conditioning resulted in poor sleep

One night stay - food and pool was good. Room was dated, air con while set for 22 was very warm, to the point that we couldn’t sleep. Noise from people in the pool at 9.30pm was loud, also stopping us from sleeping.
