We stayed overnight on our way home, I'd imagine great for families, it was very convenient. We didn't enjoy our meal.

Great breakfast. Great pool set up & very family friendly.
Room cleaners were attentive. Kids had many, many teddies and everyday (but 1) they set them up on the bed in a different order/stance. Kids loved coming back to see how they were laid out.
Only suggestion would be for Sanitary bags. These were clearly being used, and not replaced daily. With no bin bags, this could encourage people to flush.

The hotel has some fantastic highlights, but unfortunately, the room quality and some aspects of the service made our stay disappointing.
Room and cleanliness: The bed was extremely uncomfortable, with an old, uneven mattress that sagged in the middle, created a dip, and creaked every time I moved. I woke up with back pain. The pillows were equally disappointing, sinking too much and shedding feathers. The floor was dirty, the air conditioning looked dirty, and the upholstery in the room and throughout the hotel appeared stained and unclean.
I also noticed an unidentified insect bite on my son during our stay. I cannot say what caused it, but it was concerning.
Pool view: I specifically booked and paid extra for a pool-view room, but the view was heavily obstructed by a structure. This was very disappointing, as the view did not meet my expectations for the room category I paid for.
Food: Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection. However, the hotel’s other food was very average, and the pizzas were particularly terrible.
Facilities and activities: The swimming pool is wonderful and definitely one of the hotel’s biggest assets. The reptile visit organised at the hotel was amazing and a memorable experience for my son. The children’s activities were not particularly impressive, although we did not have much time to participate in them.
Staff and service: The staff were generally friendly, especially the wonderful team at the breakfast entrance. The younger reception staff were also great. Unfortunately, some of the older reception staff came across as grumpy, arrogant, impatient and unwelcoming, sometimes making me feel judged rather than welcomed.
Another major disappointment was the lack of assistance with luggage. As a mother travelling alone with a young child, I would have appreciated some help carrying our bags. There was a luggage trolley at reception, but no one offered assistance, even though it was clear that I was managing everything alone. The trolley seemed to be there for decoration rather than practical use.
Location: The location is perfect! Everything is within easy walking distance, and many tours offer hotel pick-up, making it extremely convenient for families and travellers.
Overall: The hotel has an excellent location, a beautiful pool, a great breakfast and some fantastic family experiences. However, the poor condition and cleanliness of the room, uncomfortable bedding and inconsistent reception service significantly affected our stay. For the price paid, I expected a much better standard of accommodation and service. With better room maintenance, improved cleanliness and more attentive hospitality, this hotel could offer a much better experience.

Unfortunately, my experience at Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort was not what I expected, especially considering the reputation and standards I associated with the hotel. There were some basic amenities missing from the room, such as complimentary bottled water, toothbrushes and toothpaste, which I would have expected to be provided for guests.
Another disappointing aspect was the housekeeping. The cups we used for tea and coffee were not cleaned or replaced, which made the overall room service experience feel below standard. These may seem like small details, but they make a big difference to a guest's comfort and overall experience.
The only real positive was the pool area, which was lovely and a great place to relax. However, unfortunately, that was the highlight of our stay. Overall, I expected a much better experience from Novotel and was left disappointed by the lack of basic amenities and attention to detail. I hope the hotel takes this feedback on board and improves its service for future guests.

My overall experience at the resort in Cairns was absolutely beautiful. I had such a relaxing and memorable stay. Stayed during school holidays, while busy the motel staff handled the rush of happy hour well. We appreciated the reptile show, our granddaughter particularly loved the UV scorpion and snake. The animals were well cared for and owners very patient and well informed.

It was the school holidays, which coming from the uk we were not aware of, so our room could not be changed. Breakfast was okay but dinning room never looked inviting in the evening. The oasis pool area although nice looking was full of children. They also sell day tickets for it so it is not just for guests. The sun bed covers were never removed in the evening so when in rained overnight they were soaked by the morning. Sunbeds never rearranged tidily like most hotels we have visited in the past. Good for families not couples.
