Dear Catherine, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I apologise if you were offended by the bill sent to your room. However, it is standard procedure that we charge the full amount of your accommodation upon check in. On your arrival, you requested to pay on departure however not approved. You were advised that the total cost of your stay will be pre-authorised, however, your card declined. You were charged the first night so that you can check in but advised that the team will try the remaining balance the next day. It was unsuccessful, hence, a reminder letter was sent to the room. We treat all our guests with respect and equality regardless of status and affiliation. We were hoping that you will understand that as a staff member, we are only doing our job. With other issues you have mentioned, please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to avoid future occurrence. Sincerely, Novotel Sydney West HQ team
