Unforgettable for all the wrong reasons. The room was filthy and cockroach infested. The lounge was broken you couldn’t get out of it and I didn’t want to look under the sheets at the mattress. This site should not be permitted to trade under the Accor's banner!!

Staff at front desk are excellent, but the room we stayed in was dirty. There were stains on the walls; on the curtains and on lounge and carpet. There was a rip in the curtains. Cereal was left scattered in one of the drawers. Curtains could not be drawn.

If I could give 0 stars I would

Lauren H TripAdvisor review

I booked through Virgin Velocity for what was advertised as a 1-bedroom apartment with 1 queen bed and 1 king bed. The photos showed exactly that. I was travelling to Sydney with my elderly, not in the best health, mum for her sister’s funeral, so having the correct room was essential. When we arrived, the single staff member at reception checked us in. I opened the door to find one double bed. I went back down, and from there the experience spiralled. The staff member was confused, told me I had two bookings, then said one was cancelled, then changed the story again to say the room type “doesn’t exist” and that Virgin’s website was wrong. She repeatedly insisted it wasn’t her fault and that I had to “sort it out with Virgin Velocity.” I didn’t have the number on hand, and when I did find it, I couldn’t get through. She then mentioned that the hotel was “overbooked,” and when I said that meant people would arrive with bookings and have no rooms, she simply replied, “Terrible, isn’t it?” I explained that we had been travelling all day and up here for my mums sister's funeral and we really needed a room. She texted her manager, then offered a rollaway bed but refused to refund the price difference and framed it as me “saving money” because she wouldn’t charge the $50 per night for the rollaway. I declined, because I had already paid for a room with two proper beds. Then she said there might be a room with two beds, but it “wasn’t clean.” Another guest checking in even offered to give us his room. The staff member kept drifting off to help others, leaving us standing there with no solution. After more than an hour, she came back and said the only available room with two beds would cost extra. I was shocked, I had already paid for that exact room type. She again insisted there was “nothing she could do.” I asked to speak to her manager; she refused. Another man appeared, introduced himself as being from another hotel, and he also refused to help unless I paid extra. By this point, I was in tears. I asked them to call Velocity since I couldn’t get through; they tried and also couldn’t get through. Still, they stood there repeating that there was “nothing they could do.” An hour and a half later, another guest who had been checking in approached them and said, “You should be ashamed of yourselves. The way you’re treating these two ladies is disgusting. I am going to report you and put it all over social media” Only then did the staff suddenly change their tune. They apologised and offered the room with two beds, the exact room I had already paid for at no extra charge. The female staff member even laughed and handed me the key saying, “Lucky you, it’s all ready.” The next day, my mother ended up in hospital. When I came back to the hotel at 11:30pm, my key didn’t work and there was no staff onsite. I had to call a number, and the same man eventually came to let me in clearly irritated that I had woken him. This hotel is absolutely not 4 stars. It’s barely 3. The rooms and facilities are old, dirty, and run down. But the real issue is the unacceptable way we were treated during an already difficult trip. I would never stay here again and would strongly advise others to avoid this property.

Fridge not cold - told they couldn’t change it fix it. No coffee/tea cup on arrival in room - gave us only 2 cups for 4 adults staying in room. No teaspoons in room - gave only 2. No dishwashing liquid or chux or sponge, no laundry powder on check in. Had to ask front desk for all of the above. Room was tired looking, mould in shower grout. Balcony not de-cobwebbed. No kitchen scissors, kitchen had more dinner plates than people it could sleep . However they did change bath towels regular.

I wanted to enjoy this hotel due to many bad reviews. The room itself was ok, better than my expectations but this changed when I saw shit still on top part of toilet bowl (cleaned it myself) & clumps of dark hair in the shower and in main room near bed. No tv remote in room or milk in fridge. There are no food options at the hotel, told most people just order Uber eats. The reception area is next to the carpark, so strange. At the back of an industrial area, thank heavens for Uber. The tv signal kept going off intermittently. No answer when calling reception from phone in room. There are no benefits for Accor Plus members. The hotel rooms need a deep clean, even had dust on the cabinet. Should be an Ibis brand hotel, it certainly isn't up Mantra standards.
