I realised at 9pm that no bath towels had been provided. I tried to call reception to ask for towels but there was no answer. I found a phone number on the Google maps listing & called that number & someone answered & delivered towels in about 30 mins. The room smelt of cigarette smoke, there was no bedside lamps & the handle & covering of the hairdryer was perishing & disgustingly sticky. I don’t recommend this hotel & I won’t be staying there again.

Upon check-in I could not access my room as the key did not work. I then received a new key and it also didn't work. The lady at reception was trying her best to be helpful, so this complaint is not directed at her. Then she advised I could not keep my key near any electronics. To which i asked to be moved to a room with the new key system. Instead of checking the rooms first, I was taken floor to floor to look at the 2 available rooms - which were not cleaned and therefore could not be used. I was back to my original room, with keys that I couldn't carry around in my bag. The room itself wasn't well maintained. It was clean, but it needs updating. The shower was mouldy and the fridge leaked. During the night I kept hearing water dripping, check the taps but it was't from them. In the morning there was a large puddle from the fridges on the floor. I think this hotel needs to be more well maintained, the lock systems updated to keys that you are able to carry with you, and staff more adequately trained for smooth check in processes.

Stayed one night and chose it for its location and name, being a mantra but while on route I received a phone call telling me the lift was not working but by then it was too late to try and find another place to stay,. Even though I booked directly with hotel there was no communication on the location as it is located in bays of workshops and confusing when arriving after dark. Had to call back to have confirmation sent and they then confused me with another guest. Once I the room it was easy to see the bed was 2 beds pushed together and very flat. After a long day I just wanted to zone out with tv but nope no cable from wall to tv. The lovely night staff tried to assist but no cables to fit. To the lovely night lady and young guy they were amazing but even in the morning when I checked out and the night were still there 12 hours later another lady hid behind the door even hearing the issues, no offer of discount or apologies from management. A very negative experience, management only concerned with greed and a let down for the Mantra name

Stains on carpet, lounge was even worse, spilt organic matter under lounge pillow that stunk so bad I dry reached. Mould in all fridge linings. Cutlery, plates and glasses were all filthy. Stinking unemtied bin outside my bedroom window. Gym door that leads to on level 1 courtyard that has access to the street was left open all night, providing access to all of Level 1 for whom ever wandered in. No remote for TV, disgusting stains on chairs around kitchen table. Something that looked like blood stains on the curtains to the door to courtyard. Courtyard full of crap, milk crates and rubbish strewn all over. I complained to the front desk about the above and asked for the manager to call me. That was 3 weeks ago. I have photos of all of this that I intend to pass on the the media. I travel regularly for work, particularly in country areas where the accommodation is somewhat modest. However I have never stayed in a more disgusting filthy hotel. Our company has blacklisted your hotel, we can't have our staff stay in such a pigsty. This hotel has failed to meet the most basic standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Can some please contact me 04…
