It was affordably priced, easy to drive to, close to supermarkets & within walking distance to the train station. The staff were friendly & helpful and I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here during a recent heatwave for access to aircon. The aircon had virtually no output, I checked the filters and found them clogged as if they had never been cleaned so I spent an hour servicing the aircon; it then was able to cool the room. We payed a little extra for a King sized bed which turned out to be two singles pushed together leaving a hard ridge in the centre. The bathroom wet area was basic however this is in line with staying at a basic hotel. The shower leaked water through the wall and ran across the floor under the bed. The walls are "thin" and if you were next to noisy neighbours you will have choices to make. We found that sound travels through the corridor at night and to the people having the D+M at 0300 - Cheryl you should leave him. Having a range of vending machines is a bonus. Check in was simple and straightforward having booked and paid online. Bottom line - I have stayed in worse places (not in Australia) but I won't be staying at this hotel again

I am quiet surprised to see such comments, you can always request with our team. Our King size beds are two single however the there is a KING TOPPER on the top to make it comfortable. We always get good comments on beds as we regularly change our beds time to time. Our bathroom size is the standard size for budget hotels and we can always provide you extra towels on request. This was my second stay at the Ibis. My first stay was perfectly suited to me as I need an early (10am) check-in and I'm checking out around 5pm the same day. I am only there for sleep, just sleep. My first stay was very quiet, but it was also on the top floor and further away from reception. My more recent stay was on ground level and just a short distance from reception, metres from chatter, vending machines, and the laundry. A fellow came to service a vending machine when I was only 30mins into my sleep and the noise sounded like a bunch of massive rats digging around in the wall near my head, he was so noisy! I stuck my head out the door to remind him that some of us here were trying to sleep, but his attitude was not accommodating to me. Next, after the machine man, was someone directly above me dragging what sounded like a chair across the floor...... constantly, then someone in a room neighbouring mine decided to play loud music. Overall, I was there for around 7hrs. I slept for about one hour. .....then I had to drive back to Brisbane. None of this reflects on the staff, I found them on both occasions to be extremely helpful and accommodating to my needs, and I will be back, but if you're wanting a better chance of peace and quiet I recommend requesting a room on a higher level and further from the reception.
