Hotel is a bit outdated - especially reception Reception queue was also very long everything Restaurant - no coffee mugs - would take ages to get a mug to have a coffee

We were told at check in that the only room available was a disabled room with a lower height shower. That was not the full extent of the problem - we had no rubbish bin in the room and even after requesting one it never arrived. The floor of the bathroom area flooded after a shower and did not drain properly, and the toilet flush panel was broken.

I was disappointed with Novotel this time. I regretted and should have booked the Ibis instead. With the price per night, no water, we booked 2 rooms for the 3 persons. The toiletries smelled like a detergent and the room was almost bare. It is not like a 4star hotel that it should be.

I didn't look closely at the online reviews until after I had made a non-refundable booking. Some of them are clearly fake. The hotel is too tired and shabby for the Novotel brand. The air conditioning barely worked and the male staff were mostly cold, evasive and unhelpful, with the exception of the staff in the restaurant and bar who were lovely. The women on staff I encountered were also unfailingly helpful and friendly. It's in a good location, and it's basically clean, but the furniture is all stained, there are marks on the walls and floor, the towels thin and greying and, weirdly, the sheets didn't go all the way to the bottom of the bed. If you are looking for cheap, maybe check out the Ibis next door. If you want something higher-end go to the Sofitel on the other side. I didn't go into either of them, though, so read the reviews thoroughly first and know what you are getting.
