When we returned to the hotel after a wedding, a group of seven of us entered the lift, upon which it promptly broke down. After using the emergency call facility it emerged that the wait for engineer would be 1:40hr. All in all 7 of us were stuck in the lift from 02:30-04:30. One of the party was taken quite ill during this time and had to vomit in a bag. There was virtually no apology from any staff when we finally emerged, certainly no offers of any kind of help or compensation. Apparently someone did ask for our room numbers, but I’m yet to have any communication after 2 weeks. Completely disgusting all round. The following day myself wife and I were engaged in a musical performance which was largely ruined by the whole experience having had next to zero sleep. I haven’t even mentioned the insanely small rooms which were certainly not worth the wait! Needless to say I shall be avoiding Ibis if this is how they generally carry on with business.

Disappointed with our room which had nowhere to put our clothes, no wardrobe or bedside tables. The sink in the bathroom was much too small and the tap was hard to control meaning water was constantly splashing onto the floor. Also the stopper did not work. Breakfast was also poor. No proper cooked food. The sausages were bland the scrambled egg dry. Bread was too thick to make proper toast. Surprised to have no bacon ,grilled tomato or mushrooms. Even the continental breakfast gave us cold coissants and pastries.
