UNPROFESSIONAL AND HOSTILE STAFF.

I am a Law Degree Professional and Member of various decent Hotel Brands. A British Citizen. But, the Mercure KenWood Hall Hotel and Spa. In Sheffield. United Kingdom. Is not worthy of its Star Rating. The Staff behave in a UnEducated. Ignorant. Bigoted Manner towards Guests of non-Caucasian Heritage. Guests/ Ethnic People with Brown Skin are Abused. Insulted. Stared at as if they are Aliens. The Chief Executive Officer should Dismiss/ Sack/Fire certain Incompetent. Vile Communication Managers/Manageresses. And Reception Staff. They are a Disgrace to Hotels. SIGNED: LLB LAW.

Don’t accept room 231 unless the noise issue has been fixed. Tired building but some good friendly members of staff.

Huge issue with 24/7 noise of water swirling around in the aircon / heating system in bedroom. Wash’t resolved during our stay, despite 4 approaches to staff.

Pleasant and comfortable hotel

I stayed at Kenwood Hall for one night’s R&R between Christmas and new year. The oldest part of the building dates from the 1900s and the extension where my room was from the 1980s (at a guess), so this is not a swanky modern hotel, but it is large, comfortable, quiet, clean and welcoming. Kenwood Hall is situated in a pleasant residential area of Sheffield, a short walk from lots of independent shops and cafes, but it feels very secluded due to the grounds which surround it. Opening my window late at night, I came face to face with a fox on its nightly wander around the grounds. The restaurant was closed so I had an evening meal in the bar - there was plenty on the menu to choose from and my fish and chips was very nice. Breakfast is self-service with a huge choice and served from 7am on weekdays, which for an early bird like me is a big advantage. I visited the spa after breakfast, arriving as it opened at 8am when it was very quiet. The pool is small but a nice temperature and I enjoyed the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. My room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The bed and pillows were comfortable as well (I’m a bit fussy about these things so would definitely flag it up if they hadn’t been) and I had a decent night’s sleep. It was very quiet - I could hear the neighbours from time to time but thankfully they weren’t noisy. The room had also been spotlessly cleaned (by Cheryl). All in all, I would definitely recommend a stay here for anyone wanting somewhere unpretentious and comfortable for a break, whether on your own or with family. There were other guests with dogs and young children, who seemed to be well catered for.

Avoid at all costs.

Absolutely filthy hotel in need of total renovation. They had a big party event on but windows in bedrooms are single glazed and falling apart meaning it was like sleeping in a nightclub. Front of house admitted we were not the only ones to complain but they couldn't care less. No heating in one room so they had to bring a portable heater. At any cost, do not stay here. Look at the photos.

Lunch with the GRINCH

We have been to lunch with the Grinch!! What an experience, so funny and interactive, great for older children too. The lunch was a hot and cold buffet with the added bonus of a pancake machine. Excellent value for money!!
