Arrived at hotel at 9.10pm. Warm welcome and given keys to two double rooms on the 2nd floor, to the right of reception. Plumbing needs upgrading as terrible noise throughout the floor when water being run. I've had no problems at all during previous stays upstairs in the main building. This time other guests had no consideration for other people, Wonderwall being sung until gone 4am.

Ok but....

Hotel is well located but the interior decor is a bit tired. My room (337) had a small balcony overlooking the lake but the double doors were locked shut so could not be opened. The balcony itself was weed infested which did not present a good view either.

Stunning location, hidden gem

I love staying at Kenwood Hall. It has an oldy worldly charm

The hotel, food, service, and staff there was not any room for improvement, what a great weekend we had. Our thanks go to all who were involved in making the event so special.

I have stayed here many times for the location but this wasn't probably the best stay so far, I was upgraded and it generally felt more friendly.

Not as well located as the city centre hotels but set in leafy grounds and 10 mins walk from trendy Sharrow Vale Rd and Hunters Bar. The hotel rooms are rather tired and inmy experience always have a fault

Unfortunately there were silver fish in the bathroom and it smelt damp, also found bed lumpy and there was the sound of a generator/fan all night

Lovely wedding weekend - ticked every box

Lovely hotel, nice breakfast, comfortable bed amazing walk around the ground. Unfortunately the wedding and the private booking on our second night was a little disturbing and not been able to use the restaurants wad a little inconvenience. Also he spa was closer at 5pm which i found but too early as we didn't get back to the hotel from our event till 6pm and would have loved to use the facility. Would recommend to keep that open later and open before 10am so even on our last morning we could have used it and taken adventege. Over all a lovely clean hotel.

I was charged twice for my stay - I phoned to address this and was told to email proof I had been charged twice. I did this immediately and heard nothing. I phoned again to be told it was with finance and would take a few days! I’m over £100 out of pocket. We went to breakfast at 9:40, it was meant to be served until 10 but by 9:55 there were no pastries, no mushrooms and minimum other items. We asked the staff who said no more would be provided! I had enjoyed a cup of tea before getting my food but had I know it would run out I wouldn’t have bothered! We also had to hunt down a member of staff to check in as reception was empty! Overall very disappointed.

The wedding coordinator was useless and didn’t have a clue what she was doing. The bar staff were under too much pressure and couldn’t keep up. The cleaning staff had no respect for our belongings and just piled stuff up and lost some of our belongings. We were told the bar was open till 1am and it closed at 12. Plus the que was long so struggled to get a drink. Organised chaos. I would never recommend this place for a wedding or to stay.

Strange

Left the hotel feeling very torn- the staff are lovely, the grounds are beautiful, but the room urgently needs renovating - ours felt like the windows had no insulation, they didn’t seem to properly close, the mattress we slept on was hanging off the bed - too big for the bed frame and uncomfy. We tried to call in advance of our stay to ensure the staff knew we would be arriving very late - it was impossible to get through to anyone despite trying multiple times in the days running up to the stay. Overall a very strange stay with mixed emotions.

Upon arrival to kenwood hall, we was given 2 rooms( we paid for junior suites). They smelt like Weed. We couldn’t believe it. The rooms felt cold, damp and absolutely not what you would present as a jr suite to your paying guests. We complained at reception, they moved us to the 3rd floor. The bathroom was lovely and modern which was great however the room was just so dated. Skirting board were broken, patches of orange in the floor, extremely dated furniture & the patio door was so hard to open, it killed my back to push open. Breakfast was ok, staff were really lovely & the spa treatment was really nice. For a 4 star hotel, this should definitely live up to one. Really Hope mercure pump some money in to this hotel to give it the modernisation it needs. Won’t be returning unless an upgrade happens. There a plenty of hotels in Sheffield which do live up to there 4 stars.

We have stayed a number of times at this hotel, and whilst it was slightly disappointing that the Spa/pool had limited opening hours due to staff shortages we had a great time. Front of house staff went above and beyond in their welcome and helpfulness, especially Nicky who sorted out a problem with the TV remote, and a big shout out to the breakfast crew, especially Marie and Terry who were so helpful with my special diet

Dated hotel / patchy service

Checked in at 5, room part cleaned had used cups and towels laying around. Offered alternative, must have been stuffiest smallest room in the hotel, so stuck with original. Very dated. Key card failed every time we came back to room. Spa / Pool only open 10-6 when we were out! Coffees from bar were instant coffee. Dog barking in next door room late PM and early AM. Car parking spaces really small & when function on no space for guest parking. You could see staff meant well, but this hotel was way off standard for a Mecure branded site

A short but memorable stay.

The hotel was excellent - comfortable, beautiful grounds - but what really made our stay special was the friendly attentiveness of the staff, who went out of their way to help on every occasion. After just three days, coming back felt like coming home.
