Hotel lovely but be better off in a Wetherspoons for tea!

Me and my friend stayed at kenwood hall on Saturday night to celebrate us both finishing uni. Whilst the staff were so helpful and the hotel and spa were lovely the food was terrible. My friends pizza was really greasy and looked more like something you would get from a late night take away place! I had the chicken burger, which was fine but I still think Wetherspoons do a much better burger! For breakfast we just had the pastries and toast which were nice (but that may be because they weren’t made on site). Basically don’t book this hotel with the £50 dinner voucher because it’s definitely a waste! You’d be much better off finding a pub near by to eat or even going back into Sheffield city centre. They definitely need to be taking a look at their kitchen staff!

Overall the spa deal was excellent value for money. We had our room upgraded to a privilege room. However the bathroom was in serious need of refurbishment. Rust on taps and enamel off the bath. Broken toilet seat. The patio doors were broken and would not close properly. We had to tie them with a dressing gown belt. We did report this but they sent a person who worked in the hotel when it required a maintenance person. Positive points were the food which was all lovely with the exception of the chips which were undercooked and hard. The restaurant is also far too warm and required some air cooling. Spa facilities good and not busy. The neck and back massage was great. I would not have wanted to pay full price for the stay due to these issues. However for the deal overall ok. Lisa in reception was particularly helpful and lovely.

Superb venue for our wedding, lots of photo opportunities with the hall and lake. The function room was exquisite, the decorations were luxurious without being too much and the evening was superbly organised. The staff were so helpful all throughout the day with nothing too much trouble. Thanks for a great day to remember, highly recommended

Booked an overnight spa break with a friend at Kenwood Hall on 31st August. Arrived around 10.30am to be greeted by the lovely Nicky on reception. She took our overnight bags, told us where the bar, restaurants & spa reception were & the times that meals were served. Headed to the spa to be greeted by the beautiful Charlotte. We were given a towel, robe & slippers each & told where the facilities were. Lockers were free of charge, large & plentiful so no issues leaving our other belongings. Spent a short time in the gym then used the pool, jacuzzi & spa facilities for a few hours until it was time for our treatments. That’s when we met the wonderful, calm, softly spoken Lucy, boy does she give the best back, neck & shoulder massage! Absolutely amazing! Then it was time to get our room, this is where our bubble was burst! It was extremely basic & desperately in need of modernisation. Green floral carpet, mustard yellow curtains & old brown furniture, not a great look considering the rest of the hotel is lovely. We also overlooked a huge row of bushes making the room even more dull & drab. We’d intended to get in our loungewear, have a few drinks & a good catch up while chilling in the room but that was now the last thing we wanted to do so if we went to the bar. We were asked by Nicky how the room was as we called at reception so when we said it had a put a dampener on our day she introduced us to our fairy godmother Lisa & with the tap of a keyboard we were moved to a beautiful junior suite with private terrace, our plans were back in action! The room was absolutely beautiful, the terrace a godsend & we got to watch a beautiful bride & groom have their pictures taken round the lake. Whilst there we had a light lunch, evening meal & breakfast the following morning. Food was beautiful & I’ve got to say the quality of the breakfast is probably the best I have had anywhere. Portion sizes were also really good. All the restaurant staff were brilliant, friendly, welcoming & know what customer service is! It made such a huge difference to have lovely friendly staff make you feel like you were wanted there rather than being made to feel like an inconvenience as in most places nowadays. Also must do a shout out to Paul(a) on reception too, so funny, friendly & a joy to talk to, you.re a star. We honestly couldn’t have felt more welcomed if our own family ran the hotel. We were desperate for some relaxation & chilled girly time & Lisa, Nicky, Paul & all the staff made that happen. It turned out so good we literally didn’t want to leave. Rebooked for the end of November & hoping to book again to take my Husband for our wedding anniversary. Thank you so much guys, can’t wait to come back to see you all. Victoria & Sarah x

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel, our room wasn't ready on time so we got given some vouchers for a free drink at the bar while we waited. All of the staff were very friendly and approachable. Place was clean and modern, needs some freshening up as there is some general wear and tear to the decor. Food was exceptional from the restaurant, overall a great stay.
