Stolen Apple Watch from the nice suite

We were happy about the stay in the suite 500 but our after experience was awful. I emailed about Apple Watch left in the room proving with the tracker that the watch is definitely still in the room. You failed to act although it would take 5 min to get it and put it away. Next day the watch has been tracked again and showed that it has been removed from the property and is at residential address to 38 Spotswood Close S14 1LF. It is clear from this evidence that one of your staff member has removed the watch from the hotel and took it. I have reported that and again you failed to act. I phoned you and you hanged up when I explained the situation. I am taking the matter further. This is gross misconduct.

There was a wedding party very near to our room. It was extremely noisy. We soon realised we weren’t going to sleeep and decided to check out. Staff were very helpful and refunded our money. I booked this by telephone direct and and am ery disappointed that I was not told when I booked that there was a wedding very near to my room. We had a very long drive ack to oxford instead of staying . The room was tired and rundown, no head board on one of the beds and a knob missing on a drawer.

Ben K. Families - 06/06/2021 Confirmed reviews ALL

We were shocked with how dirty the room we were given was. Hair and grub on the floor of the bathroom - we are not talking one hair. We have some photos to prove this All the bench tops in the room were filthy, there were sticky patches, cup rings, a smear where house keeping had run cloth over it. The carpet was dirty Electrical sockets falling off the wall The key card power socket as you enter the room was damaged and you could see the internal electrics The toilet roll holder was bent so the toilet paper would always fall onto the floor The shower screen was missing a rubber seal so water splashed out all over the shower floor and over the toilet There was a flickering light in the bathroom The picture in the picture frame on the wall had fallen inside the frame The glass on the picture frames were filthy. The coffee cups in the room were dirty. The pool was closed - this was not stated when booking through the Accor site The intensive Covid related training that house keeping have gone through has missed the Mark by a long way. We have stayed in 3 other hotels in the week leading up to our stay here. This was to be the highlight of our trip, a pool etc, the whole was so far off the pace, and over the years we have not experienced any hotel room this poor. This was also our most expensive room. Once we checked in and got to our room we went down to the reception regarding the uncleanliness of the room. This was written down. 45 mins later I used the WhatsApp service and then 45 mins later we were offered another room. We have 2 kids who needed to get to sleep This new room had just been cleaned and smelt so strongly of cleaning product. Was a downgrade on the room we had. We asked for some cleaning product to clean the room ourselves, the receptionist offered to do this, but we would rather do it ourselves and would prefer not to have someone else in the room. Our bags stayed packed for our entire stay because we did not feel we could unpack and store clothes cleanly. We considered leaving in the morning but just got out of there as quickly as possible and stayed away until the evening. We left a note for house keeping not to come into our room as we did not want them touching anything. The receptionist on the evenings of our stay was very friendly and helpful throughout this and we felt sorry for her having to deal with the uncleanliness of the room when it was not here fault. When we checked out we were never asked how our stay was and I feel this was because they were sick of hearing negative reviews. This stay was an enormous letdown. Please call me to discuss this hotel experience. I look forward to discussing the problems in more detail.

The stay fell far below the standards of the Kenwood that I knew in the past and we have stayed there on a number of occasions. The staff were really good - friendly and helpful. Efficiency and attention to detail were poor at best.. Whilst recognising the issues with Covid and the difficulties this has caused/is causing, the deficits observed can only be put down to sloppiness, inadequate staffing and poor management oversight. Examples include provision of wrong bed linen - single sheet size and similar mattress cover for a queen size bed; long waits for bar service (45 minutes plus one day), delivery of only tepid food to bar area. No attention was paid or reminders issued to guests/visitors roaming areas without face masks, and particularly one group of men (25-35 age group) who drank each night in the bar or external patio who were loud, constantly swearing, no masks and who seemed very out of place - visitors ?

Run down hotel in good location. Disappointingly dirty with heating and hot water problems.

Disappointed G. Families - 03/06/2021 Confirmed reviews ALL

We were disappointed with our stay as the hotel seemed run down. The window catch was damaged in both rooms. The bathroom surfaces stained. The door to one room did not close without force. Our room was too hot and the heating could not be turned off. Your staff were helpful in changing room but the second room was dirty (my husband stood on the bed to remove cobwebs). And I wiped down the surfaces which were grey with cigarette smoke or dust. When I used the shower I scalded my skin as it was so hot. There was no safety stop on the thermostatic valve to prevent me from doing this. There was also no warning of the hot water. In addition the wifi did not work in this room. Your staff were helpful but unknowledgeable. I asked one lady if the hotel had an electric charging point and she said “not round here”. So I drove to Mark’s and Spencer to charge my car only to later discover that there was a charger in the car park. On the plus side the hotel was very dog friendly. I understand this is a challenging time with Covid. However I was very disappointed with my stay.

This was a special short break for us as it was our 30th wedding anniversary - I asked to be upgraded to the privilege suite. The bed mattress had blood stains on which you could see through the sheet, stains on small table, chairs were marked and dirty, the bed side lamps were dirty/ marked and didn’t fit the stand, the television remote was very dirty with sticky marks on. We had some concerns around the restaurant the queuing system which didn’t really work and there was a lot of congestion due to queuing for hot food, cold Buffett and hot drinks, a waiter cleaned the table only with a wet cloth no spray dropped the cloth on the floor picked it up and continued cleaning the table, cutlery wasn’t always changed when someone left the table. We did find staff helpful.

spent a night, very happy with the experience, even if the spa was closed for Covid restrictions, and this was the main reason for selecting the hotel. Would strongly recommend if you like nature. We walked 20 min to a greek restaurant that was excellent and made to a great stay.

had a couple of hiccups but were dealt with very quickly. I have been a regular guest over a number of years as I have family in Sheffield and always stay at the Kenwood, while it was under several different ownerships. Obviously this time it was totally different due to the covid, and I am looking forward to seeing how things compare when we get back to normal.

I stayed at the hotel for a week after being evacuated from my house due to fire hazard. Upon check-in I received a free upgrade to one of the Privilege rooms which was much appreciated. The room was massive and the view from the window (woods, running squirrels and birds) was fantastic. Two male members of staff at the front desk are a massive asset to the company (sorry guys, I never got your name). Both of them were extremely helpful, friendly and definitely made my stay better. The thing that needs addressing is the breakfast times. On 2 occasions I came down for the breakfast at the times indicated on welcome letter and the breakfast had already finished. Also the water pressure in shower was rather poor, it took me ages to wash my hair and rinse off the shampoo. Apart from that I had an amazing stay and will definitely recommend the hotel to my friends and family when they’re visiting Sheffield.

Thank you so much for taking the time in sharing your experiences and I am really pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us, albeit, in difficult circumstances. I will be sure to address the niggles regarding the breakfast times and shower pressure with the relevant team members, thank you for highlighting and I will pass on your kind comments to our front desk team. We very much look forward to welcoming you back again in the near future, hopefully in better times. Kind Regards, Dan Wilson General Manager

I have stayed multiple times at this hotel. Obviously it is challenging at the moment, but all was in accord with current rules, and a reasonable breakfast was available, certainly better than what was on offer during the first lockdown. I am looking forward to returning next year when hopefully everything will be back to normal.

Thank you for taking the time in sharing your experiences and I am really pleased that you continue to enjoy your visits to Kenwood Hall. We reviewed our breakfast offering from the first lock down and wanted to add improvements. I am pleased that you enjoyed it in most recent weeks. We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in better times. Kind Regards, Dan Wilson General Manager
