The hotel is situated twenty miles away from a relative who is unable to accommodate us, so it is useful to stay with you for a comfortable night and good breakfast.

Convenient for where we needed to be. Very noisy with the train track running alongside and some very noisy guests which is not the hotels fault. Housekeeping could pay more attention to detail. Floor very dusty.

Rooms were good, comfortable. Clean. Two important things. Breakfast ran low as A. number people arrived at same time. Importantly there was no hot water before 7am.

First of all, from what I saw, the hotel was very clean. I was in the place less than 14 hours but there were a number of aspects that were disappointing: In the the room: On a warm night, the wasn't air-con and the room was hot and stuffy. If I opened the window I got the noise of the M1 motorway just yards below. The light switch on the side of the bed that I slept on didn't work. I couldn't get the body wash dispenser in the shower to give out gel, despite it not being empty. Breakfast: The hot drinks machine wasn't working. I pressed for a milk coffee but there wasn't any milk in it. When I topped it up with the milk that was there for the tea the drink became cold. The machine was out of use for all of the time that I was having breakfast. Apparently this fault is an ongoing problem. There wasn't another machine as backup

Comfortable and clean. Polite and helpful staff. Well located, just a short drive into Barnsley town centre, where we attending a wedding. Our 3rd bed had not been set up and made, but this was quickly rectified. Good choice at breakfast and excellent coffee.
