Well located & good hotel

I stayed here with friends between Christmas and New Year. We had a very pleasant stay. Hotel was very clean and tidy. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Room was well kept and everything worked fine. The main town is only a short stroll away with plenty of shops, pubs & food place to pick from. Parking is the only issue as their car park is very small and it is charged at £15 per vehicle, per night but if you go out, your spot is not reserved!

While the size of the room was sufficient The following issues - The room was dusty, old cloth chairs and wooden wardrobes holds the dust - The bin had not been emptied - The grout in the bathroom floor has holes in it - There was a hole that was kicked in to the back of the bathroom door - the table at the entrance and tables around the back were covered in empty glasses no one was sitting at the tables Staff were nice, but for an accord hotel, spend some money refreshing it or sell it on.

We had a booking issue, in that the Accor ALL website would not allow us to book for two adults and a 14 year old in a room that is advertised for up to four adults. Weird. However, once we arrived every staff member was extremely friendly and were extremely helpful. On-site parking is very limited and it's a hike from a public car park. However, the location worked well for us because it was a short walk from Doncaster station where my wife and daughter arrived.

Avoid this place like the plague. A while back it closed it's doors to the general public and housed our foreign replacements. I went to book a room and was threatened with my life by numerous gentlemen who I pay tax to feed, clothe and house plus a few quid in their back pocket housed with his brand new super modern mobile phone. They've been moved on now into our communities and they're begging for our custom again. In summary, give it a miss. They made a decision against the will of the people.

The staff were lovely but the room was shabby with peeling paint on the carpet, stained curtains, holes in the bathroom door plus the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied. The TV rwmote didn't work properly so we could only watch random channels at an inadequate volume & there were minimal plug sockets. The noise from a nearby bar was horrendous, until gone 1am on a Monday night.
