We arrived at the hotel at around 9 pm. After checking in, we went to our room. There was a slightly strange smell in the room. My husband wanted to open the in-room safe to put our valuables in it, but it was locked. He tried the standard combination of 123456 first, but it didn't work. Then we tried another obvious combination: 000000. This time, it worked. After opening the safe, we discovered the source of the smell — someone had put leftover food in there and closed the safe. We took the food out of the safe and went to reception to tell the receptionist about the situation in our room. We then left the hotel for a walk, hoping the air conditioning would remove the stench. When we returned, the room no longer smelt, but the safe still did. We closed the safe, hoping it would not be noxious, and went to bed. It seemed that no one in the hotel was interested in checking the room or cleaning the safe. When we checked in on Thursday, we were informed of the room cleaning and towel exchange policy. This states that rooms are cleaned and towels are exchanged every two days. Our room was scheduled to be cleaned on Saturday. Clean towels were to be provided on the same day. To facilitate this, we were told to put the 'clean room' door hanger on the door and leave any towels we wanted to exchange on the floor. We did so. We left at around 10 am for brunch in the city and returned at 1:30 pm. However, we noticed that the cleaning staff had not been in our room or on our floor. We quickly changed and left the room at around 2 pm. When we returned shortly before midnight, we saw that the room had not been cleaned and the towels were still on the floor. My husband took them to reception, complained about the situation, and asked for fresh towels. He returned with three large shower towels and one smaller towel. We put the smaller towel on the floor to avoid slipping on the wet, dirty floor when leaving the shower. We hung the wet towels on the bathroom hooks. However, it was not possible to dry them, as there were not enough hooks in the room for all the towels. On Sunday morning, we left the room at 2 pm. When we returned shortly before midnight, we noticed that our bed had been made and the rubbish bin had been emptied. They cleaned our room on the last day of our stay! The wet towels were still hanging on the hooks exactly as we had left them, though. When we checked out, I complained to reception about this, after which we left the hotel. In summary, the hotel staff were unable to provide us with a clean room or clean towels. I cannot understand why there was no quality check to ensure the room had been properly cleaned and everything was available for incoming guests. Providing fresh towels every two days is an essential hotel service, especially in hot weather. Cleaning the room and removing the rubbish on the last day felt like a mockery. We would not recommend staying at this hotel.

Dear, As I already emailed you. I had a horrible experience. Outside the temperature reached 30+ degrees. With windows in full sunshine and no airco my room was unbearable. Upon arrival I was informed that you had overbooked the hotel and it was up to me to accept my room with “minor” defaults or go somewhere else. This, in my opinion, should never be the case. Paying €145 euros for 1 night, in a filthy, super warm hotel where reception is not available after 23:00 hours (I tried to call 3 times and waited for 15+ mins but was not answered) and a morning receptionist that could not say anything but oh yeah I’m sorry to hear, good day is in any way unexpectable. Definitely not Accor brand standard or 4 start experience.
