I stayed at Novotel Rotterdam Brainpark for over a month while relocating to the Netherlands, and overall I had an excellent experience. The biggest reason for my perfect score is the outstanding hospitality shown by the front office team. They consistently went above and beyond to make what could have been a stressful international move much easier. After arriving from a long international flight, they kindly arranged a room where I could shower and rest while waiting for my actual room to be ready. That small gesture meant a lot and set the tone for us. During my extended stay, I was also generously upgraded, the booking process was always smooth, and the team was very accommodating with keeping me in the same room throughout and complimentary amenities & drinks. I would especially like to recognize Zoe, Lisa, and Ines, who were exceptional throughout my stay - we felt they were our first Dutch friends here. 😊 They were warm, professional, proactive, and always communicated clearly. In fact, every member of the front desk team I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and eager to assist. They are truly the hotel’s greatest asset. There are, however, a few areas where I believe is a con / improvements needed. The hotel’s location is peaceful but is inside a university campus, around a 10-minute walk from the nearest metro station, with very few restaurants, shops, or other establishments nearby. This wasn’t a major issue for me, but it’s something future guests should know. Housekeeping could also be more thorough. I noticed dust in the room on several occasions, and the fitness room would benefit from more frequent cleaning and maintenance, as it was often dusty despite its small size. My only real disappointment was the consistency of service outside the front office. The housekeeping and restaurant teams were noticeably less welcoming, and at times came across as unfriendly. The one exception was Anik in the restaurant, who consistently greeted us warmly, made us feel valued, and delivered the kind of service that reflects Accor’s hospitality standards. Overall, despite these areas for improvement, the kindness, professionalism, and genuine care shown by the front desk team completely defined my stay. They turned what was meant to be temporary accommodation into a place that truly felt welcoming during my first month in Rotterdam. Thank you to the entire front office team for making my transition to the Netherlands such a positive experience. I would gladly stay here again and recommend to our future visitors.
