I went to interstate for the first time to attend my first convention. The lovely lady at the front desk was instantly welcoming and friendly, great to talk to and was a wonderful hype-woman for the duration. The room was a compact place to relax before, during, and after the con, and suited my needs perfectly. The showers in accommodations is always an issue for me because of my large size and heft, but the showers here had high water pressure, great hot water, and a head high enough that I didn't have to duck to wash my hair. I could not have found a more suitable place for my needs.

Staff were super lovely and a highlight. The shower had a crack in one of the tiles that would fill will water and go stagnant meanin. When I first walked in there was a weird smell. I found that running the shower got rid of the smell for about an hour before the it'd return. The room was a bit awkward. Slant in the ceiling caused the need to constantly climb over the the bed. The curtains in the room didnt close properly so I had to put bags against them to keep them shut. All in all I would stay again to see if a different room would be better.

We travel to Melbourne in October each year for a gaming expo. We stay at Ink Hotel South bank which has since rebranded to ibis styles. We were a bit skeptical if anything changed and pleasingly, other than a coat of paint out the front it’s the same hotel. It’s a great experience, friendly staff, easy check in / out. It’s great there is a (good) coffee shop in the lobby and another one next door. It’s also nice being able to pay upfront when we check in. The bar is a nice touch as is the very reasonable happy hour. The only thing is there isn’t any moisturiser in the room which the Mrs noticed but that is a non issue. We usually pack our own. Will be back next year. The location is fantastic and we are big fans of the hotel.

We loved our stay. To be honest the first impressions of the styling did surprise us, however it grew on us. We were on the 5th floor with no view. A view would have been great. The staff were amazing especially Salam and Charlie. We loved the breakfast every morning too. We would return in the future. Thanks Ibis Styles Southbank!

We were told check in was at 2pm (27 Sept 2026) and arrived shortly after. A woman at the check in said no available rooms yet and told me to sit down and she will let me know when housekeeping indicated that a room is free. We waited for almost an hour, no updates or anything. Many others were being checked in and given the key cards to their room. At around 3pm the woman who told me to wait ended her shift and left with her bags. Soon after, I went and mm inquired about my room and the lady who had just started her shift checked me in and gave me the key cards within 5 minutes. Was not happy with the experience we had with the first lady.
