Rooms are tired, no pool, no minibar, room service needs to be PU at reception, booking was not correct and poor value for money.

Good size room 717 but the room smelt like hamburgers all night.

I have stayed here many times since it changed to Mercure. Have always enjoyed the stays. This time however was totally different. Check in is all done by kiosks now. No staff in sight at check in. Booked for 3 Adults yet the sofa bed was not made up. Had to request twice for it to be done. When it was done it was just roughly done and no towels ect for the 3rd person. Had to request again. On New Year’s Day the room was serviced but the deb and the sofa more looked like the sheets just pulled up and not actually made. Only half the towels ect replaced so had to go ask for towels and bathmat and hand towels. Glasses ect not washed. We thought maybe they had a big New Year’s Eve so didn’t worry too much until the next day the room servicing wasn’t much better. Under the bed and couch was rubbish as well. The standards have completely dropped in this hotel in last 6 months. The f&b team however was great and friendly. The welcome drinks in the bar was as expected and the welcome gift in room was of good standard. This hotel has been my hotel of choice for staycations due to location and standards and service but now will have to decide if the location alone is enough for us to keep returning.
