We have stayed at Mercure Southbank Hotel countless times during our visits to Melbourne and enjoyed each and every experience. It's perfect location is handy to Southbank's riverside retail shops, cafes, and some very fine restaurants, making it a perfect accommodation venue for my wife and I. Everything we need is contained inside the hotel including very helpful staff, excellent room service, comfortable bed, clean room, and a very good onsite breakfast restaurant and separate snacks bar. It is a great feeling to wake up, shower, dress, and then walk along Southbank's promenade for exercise or to attend the National Gallery Victoria or Hamer Hall nearby. The Melbourne CBD and Crown Casino are within easy walking distance, and there are plenty of taxis parked outside if travelling further is needed. The Hotel can also cater for onsite car parking if required. I cannot think of anything detrimental about our stays here, and highly recommend Mercure Southbank Hotel to all who seek quality accommodation at a sensible price. It is also a member of the Accor group and honours points built up over accommodation time. Thank you to the staff and we look forward to our next stay soon.

We stayed at the Mercure in Southbank for three nights. Unfortunately, there was something wrong with the air-conditioning. It was so hot during the night, it was incredibly stuffy and it appeared to be blowing hot air, so we went downstairs and told the manager however we were told that the temperature of the air-conditioning inside the hotel depended on the weather outside. This was a bizarre excuse, however we asked to change rooms. The same thing occurred with the next room so we got a new room again. We stayed at the hotel for three nights and we had three different rooms each night. Finally, on the last night we got a room with decent air-conditioning so that we could sleep. The assistant manager was kind and tried to help us as best he could.
