Shocking Arrival

Overall a very poor stay. I'm aware its 'Budget' hotel, but it is an 'Accor' branded property. When I arrived the entry was locked (after hours). Pressed the buzzer approx 10 times over a 5 minute period...no answer. Called the hotel phone number direct.... automated reply 'please call back later'... Waited approx 15 minutes for another guest to arrive and let me in to check in. When I arrived at reception, the office could not accept my credit card 'pay-wave'. It required the physical card, which I don't possess...its on my phone..... If you need a physical card in 2024; you need to advise guests. The room was pre-booked and fully paid already!!!.... Only one elevator worked, which proved problematic though the entire weekend with delays and full elevators often leading to long wait times to use.. My door swipe card didn't unlock the property's front door after hours. The room's locking handle prevented the swipe card for entry, as it appears to be malfunctioning mechanism. Although bed was comfortable and room clean, it was the arrival, and on-going problems of the property which made it a disastrous experience.

Very Cost Effective. The title of the property says what it is "Budget" I was travelling on my own and wanted something clean and handy for conducting my business.

Major issue is that the website does not state that this hotel does not honour ALL benefits. This is not stated at the time of booking or in the booking confirmation in the app. As a Platinum, I received absolutely no benefits from this hotel, not even an upgraded room or bottle of water. There is also a warning I noticed on a piece of paper saying that when having a shower, guests should close the door or the smoke alarm may be set off, with a penalty being charged to the guest for the Fire department attending. Well, the shower door was broken - and surely for a piece of information this important, which is surely a design defect , the front desk should notify guests upon check in that they must close the shower door (which they didn't). Overall this felt like a youth hostel rather than a 3 star hotel.
