This hotel has a fantastic location at the heart of Melbourne. It is close to Flinder station and a short walk to Southern Cross station. Most iconic places, cafes as well as QVM and Chinatown are within a 1-2km away. Staff are friendly and polite. The rooms are clean and have the minimum necessary for a good short stay. I wouldn't recommend it for a long stay. Room service is below average and you need to ask for soap, clean towels and the breakfast is also too simple. Anyway, in my opinion you get a bit more than what you paid for basically because of the excellent location.

The only good thing about the accomodation was the location

Was given an Accor gift card for our wedding ($200). Called to confirm it could be used at this accomodation. Upon checking in was told the gift card in fact couldn’t be used and we would have to pay the full cost. Went up to our room (after waiting 20 minutes longer than the agreed check in time) to find the room was yet to be cleaned and the bed was yet to be made. Went back to reception where we had to wait another 30 minutes for another room to be ready. Room was small, outdated and not very clean. The bathroom sink tap had more pressure than the actual shower head. Each morning our walk to the Main Street through the ground floor smelt like vomit and urine. Should be called ibis “backpackers”

My wife and I stayed at this hotel overnight. Room was good, location is great. Now that trams are free you almost walk out the door to the tram stop. Only fault, the TV would not work and when I told them they just said they had problems with remotes. I also told them the manual buttons on the back did nothing. All they said was they would give me a late checkout the net morning. The could have at least had a look.

The location of the hotel is perfect right in the middle of town. The room rate is cheap but not cheap and cheerful. The tv in the room didn’t work and the carpet on the floors is really dirty you can see stains everywhere and all the walls have scuff marks.

Booked for parking - this was incorrect

The room was fine, the service was adequate, however I booked from within the Accor member platform and this indicated parking was available. I contacted the hotel after booking to confirm, but was told the morning of my stay and was told I needed to park offsite and was directed to a place on Flinders ST. I parked there and was disappointed to find out that I was charged in excess of $50 for the parking that I expected to be onsite. The website also had issues with the breakfast, which I showed the person at check in but they didn't seem to understand. It was offering me breakfast for $99,999! Might be good to fix?

Not a great one, poor room service, in 6 days never had a change of sheets

Your staff were helpful with my requests. I had initially booked a one night stay, and later booked another two nights. On check in my booking was amalgamated on request. The second staff member was pleasant in checking me out and for storing my bags for the day. The third staff member wished me a good day after I filled up my flask. As I left I noticed them wiping down all surfaces that I might have touched which is reassuring to know.

The room was pretty good and generally had everything that I was looking for in terms of a short stay (my room was 509)- but I turned the room upside down looking for the remote (I assume there was one?) to the television. I checked the room notes and there was no mention about how to control the tv if there wasn’t one. I managed to turn the tv on manually but it didn’t allow me to switch channels so I was left with the one single option. The staff in the lobby were lovely in checking in and out however and deserve praise for that.

We arrived to two friendly reception staff who were dealing with a very agitated guest. We had previously stayed at the Ibis Budget in Brisbane which was fantastic so came to this hotel with the same expectations. Unfortunately the Melbourne Ibis Budget is not at the same level. The rooms are much smaller, and the hallway flooring is terribly dirty, making for poor first impressions. However, for the price, and location, it was a place to lay your head with an ensuite (of sorts). We stayed as a family of four however I wouldn't recommend the hotel for a family. Staff member Vicky was absolutely lovely, she was enthusiastic, polite and always happy to help. She is the definition of brilliant customer service.

For a short stay in Melbourne with limited budget, ideal solution

The service staff, reception were very friendly and co-operative. They did their best to make the stay comfortable. The Breakfast was fair, but understandable for economy cost of accommodation. Unfortunately, as accor club members one don't earn any points. The other Hotel booking site (e.g. Hotels.com), as a member, give you the same priced offer for this hotel (accor affiliated hotel) with all extras, and you still earn advantages (e.g. one free night after 10 nights stay).I can't understand the benefit of becoming accor club member !!!

great location: food outlets nearby, trams just a short walk, Flinders and Southern Cross railway stations closeby as well.
