On arrival the staff, especially Bintang were very kind and professional. She explained everything I needed to know in a clear and concise manner. The room, though small (I booked a standard) was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is situated on the corner of Collins and Spencer Streets across the road from Southern Cross Railway Station. It is an easy fifteen minute walk (and I walk slowly) to the centre of Melbourne CBD. It is an even quicker walk to the The place is surrounded by restaurants and eateries and the Casino and Southbank is even closer. All in all I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to others

I decided to stay at Batman's Hill due to it's location, and the safety of being close to Batman. I have to say I felt a bit let down that the bat cave was not even close to the hotel. I had also read some of the reviews, and again, I'm sad to say the hotel did not live up to the reviews. I was looking forward to the 3 complimentary dead rats as mentioned in the review of Thomas on July 2. Imagine my disappointment when getting to my room and discovering a perfectly clean room, I felt absolutely cheated!. From this, I never also got to experince the rude staff I was also lead to believe would be on duty. So I didn't get rats, I didn't get to experience the Fawlty Towers of Melbourne and I also didn't see Batman. So I would suggest that if all you want is a nice hotel, in a good location, with clean, well appointed rooms and a good price, then Batman's Hill is probably as good an option as you're likely to find. I'd you're a vindictice person who insists on posting one star reviews for fun, stay somewhere else.
