Convenient location! Tram stop and Southern Cross station right next door.

Great location!! Lovely hotel and service! Honoured Platinum status in Accor. Booked red hot rooms so didn’t expect any upgrades but was given a spacious room on the 2nd floor. I actually liked that the room was near the lifts as I heard no noise from that. There was some lovely chocolates in the room - complimentary from hotel. The breakfast was also complimentary w status. The breakfast had hot and cold food. The staff was mostly attentive, there was a period where no one manned the check in reception, I had to make a phone call to the hotel to get someone there. Although there was a phone in the room, there’s no information on which number to dial for assistance. Anyway, it is 8 to the reception n everything else. Housekeeping was dependant on the duty person, beds were always beautifully made but one of the days, they did not even change the wet face towel, nor cleared the waste bin. The hotel was comfy and convenient to Southern Cross Station (spans a few streets!). You can leave your bags there till it’s time to depart. I would stay again for a 3 star price point. I am sure it will improve and achieve its 4 star status in the future.

Strange

I was disappointed as the room wasn’t very nice and had a skylight in the roof that woke us up very early. It also didn’t have an outside facing window. It felt rather different from the pictures I had seen online. I’d love to have had a good experience as the hotel looked so interesting on line.

wouldn’t go there again !

we booked this hotel as it was central to Melbourne city centre. We wave used a lot of hotels in the all accor group . Was so disappointed with this hotel . Our room was on the 5th floor - not a problem with that Didn’t have a view ( knew that - not a problem . The corridor to the room had a musty smell and carpet was rippled ( trip hazard) The room itself was compact , beds were comfortable and clean . 6 hangers in a doorless cupboard was the only storage clothes shared this space with ironing board and an iron which had scorch marks on the ironing plate . The decor was badly needing freshened up . The shower was unclean , the bathroom door didn’t shut as requested by the hotel to ensure the steam didn’t set off the alarm ?! I reported the problem with the door , was told he would get maintenance (that was Tuesday ) we left on Friday and still wasn’t repaired . I had to wedge something under the door to keep it closed . Breakfast was included , went down first morning for the buffet , Scrambled egg was discoloured and rubbery , bacon was like leather , mushrooms looked like they had been there for a week . Hash brown were solid and inedible . Needless to say didn’t eat anything and went out for breakfast . I travelled to Australia from Scotland and this hotel has not been a nice experience at all . Photos tell it all .

big contrast in standard of rooms

This was my second stay at this Hotel, the situation, close to Southern cross station and nearby tram stops, is why I chose this Hotel. My first stay was great, the room was fine and what I would expect from a 4* Hotel. However this recent stay was nothing like the previous one, my room was more like I would expect in a 2 *, decor shabby and bathroom extremely small. It was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. If I stay there again I will be specifying that I don,t want this poor standard again. If selecting a 4* Hotel I expect excellent accommodation. There is no way the second room could be described as 4*.

Ok hotel and good front of house staff but let down by logistics

IanM2643 Business - TripAdvisor review

I stayed in the hotel during a business trip. After working out that check in was on the first floor I navigated the 30 international primary school student group that seemed to be staying at the hotel ( what could possibly go wrong) and got to the front desk. They had some how muddled up the booking and put me in a twin room.. but no real issues as it was on the top floor and had a balcony. Turns out the balcony has a wall of about 5 ft in height so you don’t get any real views in the room. At least the front desk was empowered to give me a free drink voucher for my troubles. After about an hour the air con in my room started sounding like a lawn mower. The same guy from the front desk turned up to look at it. He had the foresight to know that it was not going to be fixable and he brought the keys to the room next door with him and on the spot offered me a room swap. He left the keys to the original room so I could move at my own pace and said to hand both keys in the morning. New room was fine and all the rooms were clean and recently renovated. However even with the air con turned off it was cold in the room even though it was 20 degrees outside I ordered room service which came in a reasonable time. However the fish had clearly been frozen not fresh as it was hard and dry. I used the order form to hang on my door as instructed before 1am to order in room breakfast. In the morning breakfast hadn’t arrived I opened the door to check, the order form was still hanging on the door uncollected The hotel was of a good standard and the front office staff were very responsive but seemed to be up against it and let down by lack of processes and logistics
