Arriving after 5pm is not easy because the principal street is blocked off by commercial food vendors on Jalan Alor. Navigating a car in the narrow back alleys to get to the hotel is not for the faint hearted driver. The security guards are eager to help with luggage, sadly, they don't understand much English, Malay or Chinese. They mishandled my luggage and the telescope handle bar warped as they carried it up the staircase. My room on the 6th floor had a balcony. It's a nice feature, but not a good idea to open room doors into the balcony. It's not shaded, nor furnished with chairs to enjoy the scenery. Made a mistake to keep the door open because a swarm of mosquitoes flew in.

The hotel is well located, well mantained, clean rooms, good facilities, yet receptionists should be trained more to be communicative. My recent experience with the reception team did not reflect the service standards I associate with Accor. At check-in, the receptionist provided minimal interaction, no proper greeting or welcoming verbiage resulting in a cold, purely transactional experience. Later, during the night shift, I inquired about a late check-out request that had already been confirmed via email. Instead of verifying the details or asking for my name, the receptionist immediately stated he could not find it, with a raised tone that came across as rude and dismissive. This is not aligned with the “Heartist” service culture that Accor represents. I hope this feedback is taken seriously to ensure a more consistent and professional guest experience moving forward.
