A little bit of a walk to the city centre , but it is close to Roma park and the station. Room is very nice, but there is no sound proofing. I could hear people in the hallway and outside the window and even cutlery clinking together from outside. Staff were very nice and friendly. We were able to store luggage.

We won this stay as a prize and overall enjoyed the experience but wanted to provide some feedback to help with improvement. Staff all lovely and helpful, although maybe a little in the dark about processes? The phone in our room didn't work at all so after trying to trouble shoot that for a while we used our mobiles to call the hotel for room service during our stay. We also had to trouble shoot plugging in the lamp in our room and moving furniture around to find a powerpoint it could reach. The room overall was spacious and clean. Our included breakfast wasn't on the list so we had to wait for that to be sorted. The breakfast buffet was good although lacked enough serving utensils, things ran out (food, cutlery, milk in coffee machine) during breakfast and maybe could have been monitored a bit closer. We were charged (and awaiting a refund) for the room service even though we had a voucher and confirmed that multiple times, including checkout. Overall the impression we got was that there were good intentions but it was a bit of a B-grade experience. I feel most of this could be resolved with a focus on staff retention and training.

Outside of the building isn't the best, but the room was really big and well laid out. The updates to the bathroom in internal rooms was lovely. Great view from the balcony of Mt Cootha too! Although renovations were going on at the hotel, the staff were great at minimising any disruptions, and were very friendly.
