This was my second stay here (post rebranding to a Mercure) and just as good as the previous one. I was warmly welcomed and received an upgrade to a high floor room with an expansive view over Brisbane city and appreciated the extras like the pod coffee machine and bathrobes. The room was very clean, well designed and spacious with comfortable king bed. Location convenient with just a short walk to the city and either Roma St or Central stations... while the uphill walk to get back to the hotel didn't bother me, I noted there is a free Spring Hill Loop Bus 30 as an option. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty. No major negatives, there was some minor wear in the room such as water damage to the unit holding the fridge - the fridge appeared to leak a small quantity of water over time - I mopped it up with a towel before it spread but left unattended would cause further issues. Also, it was annoying that the restaurant applied the double whammy of BOTH a surcharge and also not accepting Accor Plus discount on the New Year's Day public holiday... it seems they're shooting themselves in the foot by this as there seemed to be very few diners that night - maybe others changed plans after seeing this and went elsewhere as I did (to a venue which didn't surcharge)

Big beds although pillows not amazing, friendly staff, and a little plush toy/goodie bag for the little one left a great impression.
