During our stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful. When we required scissors, a friendly staff member not only delivered them to our room but returned later to collect them meaning we didn't even need to go downstairs. The pool was in a wonderful location, was clean with towels available so it was a favourite for many. When we needed to stay an extra night last minute, the lovely staff arranged for us to do so in the same room despite being busy with other guests arriving for the weekend and concerts. Towels were changed regularly; tea and coffee were renewed regularly; and nothing got lost or misplaced.

I paid extra for a corner room that looked out over the air con vents of the building next to ours. The room was not clean: mysterious stains on the couch and headboard. Bathroom not clean. Random person's bikini in one of the draws. Desk in walled corner with no extra lighting. Lobby area on floor grimy. Asked to be moved to a different room, none available. Staff were very nice except breakfast staff who were ill attentive on second day. Very nice people, shame about the hotel. I would say it was 3 stars at best.
