My husband and I travelled to Brisbane mid February and this was our first time staying at the Sofitel Brisbane. At the end of our stay I had mixed feelings overall. There was some aspects I loved and some that just didn’t feel right. We caught the train from the airport and it was super simple getting into the hotel. The signage was much appreciated as we were not sure where to go. The check-in process was very good and it was a nice touch that the gentleman came from behind the desk to point out where the Club Millésime, breakfast area as well as the lifts all were. We were very grateful for our room being upgraded to a Luxury City View Room. The room itself was large and comfortable and the bed was perfect for a good night sleep. We enjoyed breakfast each morning at Bistro Suzette. This would have been one of the biggest and best buffet setup’s I’ve seen at a Sofitel. It had a fabulous selection of foods. I had wanted to take advantage of the pool while we were there however it rained all weekend. My biggest disappointment was the Club Millésime. It is now located on the same level as the lobby and it is just a closed off section of the main restaurant. For the evening drinks the bar is a section set up at the end of the room. Having the club set up here compared to upstairs doesn’t make it feel exclusive or inviting. The Club Millésime was the only negative part of my stay. All the staff were amazing, included the older gentleman on the door, and the room was perfect.

Check-in was pretty bad. It took a long time. There didn’t seem to be enough staff to handle the 10 that were waiting. The girl who was doing mine kept asking the same questions multiple times as if she was forgetting what I said. And then she still stuffed up some of my details. I was also really shocked to be in a room with a bath/shower combo. It felt very old school. I just wanted a normal shower. I also just wanted a cup of tea but there just seemed to be a coffee machine in the room and nothing to go with the tea bags. Not sure if that coffee machine thing does just hot water. But all I wanted was a cup of tea.

A great experience overall, room upgrade, club access and a lovely dinner in the restaurant. The only negative was the pizzas served on the bar. They were just like cheese on toast. Hardly cooked and soggy, would not order again.

Unfortunately just a one night stay as we had an early flight. Very convenient for catching train to airport. Lovely room, sorry it was just one night.
