The hotel rooms, lobby, bar and restaurant are nice. I was disappointed that there was no water provided in the room.

However, I am sorry to learn of your disappointment regarding the availability of drinking water in your room. As part of our commitment to reducing our environmental impact, the hotel has moved away from single-use plastic water bottles. In their place, we have installed filtered water machines in every guest room for your convenience, allowing guests to enjoy chilled, still or sparkling water throughout their stay. We have also provided additional refill stations within Cuvee Bar for easy access. We appreciate your comments, as they help us understand where we can better communicate these initiatives to our guests. We had a complicated booking, but our check-in host made it uncomplicated. It was nothing less than excellent customer service.

The overall stay was great. It was a perfect getaway for my wife and I for her birthday. Having Stephanie's Spa Retreat on level 3 meant that we could arrive, and then my wife could straight away slip away for her massage and facial. It was also nice that the outside pool and jacuzzi were both heated, and having a fitness room on the top floor was a nice touch. The only negatives for me, though, were having to pay $50 just to park my car in the underground carpark overnight. I would have expected that to be included in the room cost. Not to mention, that when we exited the carpark hours before the 24hr limit, we were instead charged $65. We were kindly though, gifted a free drink slip for both my wife and I due to her birthday (thank you very much!), and so opted to take two cans of coke from the minibar in the room. We later were charged $13 randomly, so I can only assume that was for the drinks, as we didn't use any other service. I just got tired of feeling like every little thing cost extra, and at an excessive price (a basic Mars bar in the room was $4! for instance). And no lift in the underground carpark, just stairs. There are other options out there that don't charge extra for parking, have a lift in the carpark, and don't charge excessively for basic snacks. I think it comes off as a bad reflection on an otherwise fantastic location, as the place presents itself as prestigious.

Team, Firstly, your staff are amazing, and my deepest thanks must go out to them. However, the hotel itself is not worth the cost that I would have paid if I hadn’t used points, and the suite was significantly below what I expect of the Sofitel brand. The combination bath-shower was mouldy, leaked and had very little pressure. The fixings were old and outdated, and the towels were thin. While the bed was comfortable enough and the turn-down lovely, the bottom sheet had stains and was yellowing. It was very obvious that you had converted two smaller, adjoining rooms into a larger room, but the layouts and proportions did not meet what a suite should reflect. I am overall disappointed and will not be staying again. There are far more practical and value for money options both inside and outside the Accor brand.

We've stayed multiple times here and really love this hotel for the staff, the service, the breakfast!! and the great convenience to transport and central city. However on our recent stay we were placed in room 2902; this room is directly below the gym and the bed is underneath the weight deck. Although gym hours commence from 6am, users were in there at 5.30 am (and can also be used until 9pm)-not ideal if you are after a relaxing holiday! You can hear weights being repeatedly dropped when the gym is in use. Fortunately we received excellent service from Mew (she has been outstanding through all our recent stays and she is a real credit to the hotel).Mew arranged for us to have an upgrade to a suite for our last night stay, and also sent a birthday bottle of bubbles to the room for my husband 😊.
