The hotel is located directly in Chinatown which means a lot of great local food options, night markets and nightlife. The hotel is also located near 2 MRT stations with 1 station being just outside the hotel doors. The hotel has a cafe in the lobby which seemed to stay busy with digital nomads (?) as it just seemed strange that anyone coming to Singapore would want to hang out in the hotel lobby & cafe while they could go out and explore this beautiful city. Obviously I know that some people travel for work, etc. but the amount of people in the lobby & cafe on laptops, phones and not outside in the great weather just seemed a little odd to me. The elevators are intelligent and have no floor buttons. You simply use your room key to call the elevator and when you hop on your assigned Lift, it will drop you off at your floor only. Very nice! As for the rooms, they are a little small, but comfortable enough. The windows are soundproof, the bed and pillows were comfortable and their is even a seating chair with a tray table in front of it that you can move out of the way when not needed. There is even a water tap for filtered water. Nice! The bathroom, however, was lacking. Very tight space, sink in the hallway, no real toilet paper (just tissue squares), no wash cloths and lastly the shower splashes all over the floor. There was only 1 plastic/rubber seal on the edge of the shower door (not tight) but none at the sides or bottom of the door. Whenever water hit the shower door (all the time) it just ran down, hit the floor and splashed up and out into the room in front of the toilet and to the door. I put the bathmat down outside of the shower and it was completely soaked by the time I finished showering. That's a big miss in my opinion.

From check in to check out this hotel was perfect. Jasmine our check in attendant could not have done more, rooms while small suited us and the time we were there, elevators fast with minimal wait time (if any), breakfast was awesome, pool area lovely, maybe not a lot of loungers but was very popular. If stopping in Singapore for short stay would not hesitate to use again, longer stay if larger room option there would consider this, but to be honest probably would stay regardless. Such a great hotel, congratulation of being pretty much perfect...well done

Excellent stay at Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre. The hotel is perfectly located, within walking distance of Chinatown, Maxwell Food Centre, and MRT stations. Location: fantastic! However, hardly any taxis came in so the stand was not useful. Highlight of stay: LOVE the staff (from reception, concierge to room attendants), lots of smiles, bright greetings Breakfast: buffet was below average; “special” room for members was quite sad (a view of extra furniture stacked outside) and looked like a storage area. Room (highlight): great bed and black out blinds! Unfortunately only got the 4 pillows on my second night (two on my first) Room (overall): WAY too snug even for me at 5’. Can’t imagine how my much taller colleagues managed. Had to be careful to keep my elbows in the shower TV: way too big for the size of the room. Also the channels and video are out of sync (eg BBC News only plays BBC Earth) Work space: insufficient.

Firstly they said we didn’t have a booking, then I was asked to step away and find our booking which I did, then they said it wasn’t paid even through we used a.credit card when booking (different card that we wanted it paid with), then they said we only had breakfast for one (was my wife and I), so we didn’t have breakfast, then we got in the lift that someone else was in to find out we had to tap our card outside the life for our floor, so went to floor 18 and back before we could go to our floor. When we got in the room, OMG how small are the rooms.
