Unfortunately, our stay was severely impacted by major construction works directly opposite the hotel. For three days, including Saturday, we were woken from around 6am by a very loud generator, followed by hammering from around 8am. Even with earplugs, it was extremely difficult to sleep, which was particularly exhausting with jet lag. We fully understand that the construction itself is not the hotel’s responsibility. However, we were not warned about the level of noise before our arrival, and the hotel was fully booked so we could not be moved to a quieter room. What was even more disappointing was the quality of service and internal communication. We had to return to the lobby three times to explain the same situation because information was clearly not being passed between staff. We were offered a drink and a late check-out as compensation, which felt very limited considering how significantly the lack of sleep affected our stay. To make matters worse, despite having been granted a late check-out, reception called and woke us up asking why we had not checked out yet. They later apologized after realizing the information had not been communicated internally. Overall, the poor communication, lack of advance warning and inadequate handling of the situation were far below what we expected from a Novotel. That being said, this experience does not change the very positive stays I have had at other Novotel hotels in the past. My disappointment is specific to this particular stay.

I had a disappointing stay. My room was cleaned but no new toothbrush was left. I called guest services for one and waited all night, and it never came. The breakfast area is tiny with very few options. It is overcrowded every morning — long queues and little food available. There is also loud construction noise from the nearby site starting very early.

We arrived around 9pm after flight a delay and were very tired. Reception area has 2 desks, one staff member was serving a customer ,the other was free. I approached the female staff member and asked if we could check in at the lounge as we were platinum members and she said no and dismissed me. So we waited for a quite a while and then my husband went back to ask if we could check In with her and she said yes, no idea why she didn’t offer to do this when I asked originally. She gave us no welcome, no information about the hotel and seemed totally disinterested. Very negative first impression and very unhelpful.

Room is ok, but no water in the room on arrival. Swimming pool area looks lovely, but didn't have time to try. Breakfast okay Hotel has been recently renamed so all cab drivers were confused and were struggling to find it. They cancelled the cab on us twice because of that. Biggest disappointment was that there is no shower options after checkout when collecting luggage later in the evening. That was always an option at all other hotels I've stayed in Singapore before.

I thought it would have new furnishing with the rename, but not everything is new. The shower head hose was leaking. Breakfast was so so only. The breakfast at Mondrian Duxton was much better. I'm not sure if its the Mercure training, but I don't feel any a warmth, everytime I check in to either Novotel or Mondrian. Its just feel so transactional.
