The first impression of the hotel was quite positive. The environment, facilities, and room design were all impressive. The check-in process was fast and smooth, with the front office staff offering assistance while we were queuing—he did a good job and was very helpful. The room was clean, fresh, and well-maintained, which we were genuinely happy with. However, there were a few disappointments. We requested ice cubes to be delivered to the room. While we understood that staff might not enter the room if guests were out, the second request felt a bit off. The operator sounded impatient, and it took about an hour for the ice to arrive. While the night runner apologized sincerely, the delay and tone from the operator were disappointing. The biggest letdown was the breakfast at Madison the next morning. There was no crowd, yet no staff at the counter, so we walked in to find a seat. When we had difficulty getting coffee, a service crew member assisted us, which we appreciated. However, the tone and expression felt annoyed, and we were questioned about whether we had registered or been assigned a table. While it may have been our oversight, there were no signs instructing guests to wait to be seated. Overall, the breakfast was just “okay.” Some hotel staff appeared expressionless or indifferent, which lowered our overall expectations. The only consistently positive service was during checkout, where the front office crew were very friendly and welcoming.

I found out that my colleague was able to get an addtional access card to my room through the reception desk WITHOUT my permission. I don't know what did he tell the reception desk but this is not something that can be tolerated. I felt unsecured during the rest of the stay especially midnight after I found out this thing.

overall, the room isfine. but there is no electricity that I can dry my hair in the bathroom. I had to sit on the bed to do it.

The room is a reasonable size, but the bathroom is too small in the vanity area. The main disappointment was the slow service and average food at the club lounge. Although the staff were pleasant they were not proactive in their service with coffee served late at breakfast and the evening drinks service very slow. I saw the staff standing together in several occasions. This gave the impression of a training hotel with the main person not present. The breakfast food was cold when it should be hot and the egg service not always present and large batches of eggs pre made. This is not the standard I have experienced in many Singapore hotels. Such a shame as it has some good points. I will not be returning as there are plenty of hotels that offer service at my expectations.
